Forums - Nintendo - There is currently no mainline Metriod Prime game in development according to Prime's producer(and a bit of info on where the series will go in the future)

I swear Nintendo has made ALL the wrong moves recently..

sigh

If Metroid games really take that much time, why aren't they working on it right now? Starfox Zero was going to be a Wii game, Pikmin 3 was a Wii game, Kirby Return to Dreamland was a GC title... If you fear you won't have it for the current console, start now and just move it if needed.

they dont make those decisions

I know, it's Nintendo. If Nintendo wants to get a Metroid game that doesn't get people outraging, they really have to start making it as soon as possible, no matter which studio ends up making it.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

So Star Fox Zero won't have online multiplayer and we won't see Metroid on Wii U???
#BYEFELICIA...

Have a nice day...

So Retro worked on nothing after Tropical Freeze?

I really dont think they care

Wii U is the worst Nintendo console ever.

No ambitious 3D Mario game (3D World was great tho)
No exclusive Zelda
Starfox is half remake half new
No Metroid from Nintendo
No highly rated B series game like Paper Mario (nvm forgot about DK and Pikmin)

What a let down. Smash and Mario Kart are the only good things

whats crazy is people were adamant that there would be another Metroid actual one

Well, they should. Not because Metroid is the kind of game that sells systems, but because it's the kind of game that prevents people from LEAVING your consoles.

You are being a bit harsh. Besides Pikmin 3 and DK, there is also Woolly World which seems to be the best Yoshi game since Yoshi's Island, Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Fatal Frame V.  Nintendo might also announce some new April- October 2016  WiiU games in future Directs, it's not out of the ordinary.
