There is currently no mainline Metriod Prime game in development according to Prime's producer(and a bit of info on where the series will go in the future)

I know, it's Nintendo. If Nintendo wants to get a Metroid game that doesn't get people outraging, they really have to start making it as soon as possible, no matter which studio ends up making it.
