Forums - Nintendo - There is currently no mainline Metriod Prime game in development according to Prime's producer(and a bit of info on where the series will go in the future)

That´s terrible.

So Retro has been doing... nothing? Or they are going to reveal Diddy Kong Racing at some point?

Lol

Welp, I guess this means that Retro is most likely working on a new Donkey Kong game...

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

So their Wii U in development isn't Metroid and its obviously not DK, might be a new IP.

Well it can be a Metroid game, it just wouldn't be a Metroid Prime game :v

COMG guide to points: 1 point = Raging. 2 points = Beasting. 3 points = Tearing it up. 4 points = Berzerk. 7 points = Rampage. 12 points = Burst. 15 points = god mode. 20+ points = DIVIDING BY ZERO!!! 40+ points = Youkai (originally Pokemon).

-1 = Negabeasting. -5= NegaRampage. -10 = NegaBurst

If Metroid games really take that much time, why aren't they working on it right now? Starfox Zero was going to be a Wii game, Pikmin 3 was a Wii game, Kirby Return to Dreamland was a GC title... If you fear you won't have it for the current console, start now and just move it if needed.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Told you guys.

I shudder to think what Retro has been wasting their time on since November 2013.

my heart literally hurts.

Well Hopefully they are working on another Donkey Kong for Console if they are not working on Metroid. But in all honesty everything these guys work on turns to gold.

He also said it'd take about 3 years to make an HD Metroid game, and that it'd be on NX rather than WiiU. So implicit statement here is that there will be no WiiU support in 2018 and probably very little in 2017 and of course we know 2016 as the 'transition year'

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I'm sad now, but at least I don't have to hope for a new Metroid Prime game the next 3 years and have my hopes shattered every year.

Thank you Mother M
