This failing would not signify the end of metroid, but it will signify the end of making the metroid franchise as big as the zelda franchise (which has proved its size with the hyrule warriors spin off).

Next year is 30th year anniversary. Nintendo tends to cash in on those, so I think we will see another next year.

look, I think Nintendo is stupid enough to actually do that. They very often leave franchises dormant for long times after bad games not selling. Which is exactly what happened to Metroid after Other M or Star Fox after Command. Either way, this is a semi-joke thread.
