Forums - Sony - Opinion: Sony's E3 Gigatons are not Sony's Gigatons.

I gotta agree. Sony has got away with showing next to nothing again, and the fans are loving it. All over the internet Sony fans are practically screaming from their rooftops about how their E3 was the greatest of all time. But it really isn't the case. Almost none of the stuff isn't really theirs. Heck the Shenmue announcement was the announcement for a kickstarter. I hate that their fanbase fell for the spiked kool aid again, but what can you do?

it doesn't matter if it is multiplat... you can't say announcing a game like kh3 two years ago isn't huge just because it's a multiplat......

The announcement is huge for Sony because Sony made the announcement, but the contents of the announcements aren't that much megatons as it's multiplat'.

If FFVII remake was announced by SE for example, it wouldn't be consider as much of a gigaton for Sony as it is currently.

I mean they litteraly had nothing with the gigatons.

The last guardian sounds great, but technically it was announced long ago.

FFVII remake is good, but it's only temporary exclusive.

Shenmue 3 ? it's a kickstarter.

They came and they won, not with actual content, but just showing us what we asked for years.

Next level tactics. It feels like 2013 all over again. We got manipulated to that level where we can only be impressed at the manipulator instead of being pissed off.

They had one new exclusive with horizon though. (Edit : forgot dreams and that vr thing. mea culpa. The point of the thread is the 3 gigatons above not being exclusive or new still).

Final Fantasy 7 remake will be PS4 and possibly PC. There is no mention of Xbox One. Shenmue 3 again PS4 and PC. I think Sony will actually fund it as $2 million won't cover 20 mins of the game. Sony could have had more games to show but why throw all your eggs in one basket.

Think of all the Japanese games they could have shown? Deep Down, Persona 5,Dragon Quest Heroes just to name a few. Uncharted Trilogy, GT7 and Quantic Dreams project etc

There is no mention of pc either. They said on ps4 first and that's all.

I know they have a lot more to show, for PGW and TGS. But the impact of the 3 afore mentionned announcements is disproportionnate as far as vaporwares and multiplats' are concerned.

The conference was very exciting. E3 is all about hype, and Sony delivered more hype than every other conference combined.

The only thing that matters about the games themselves is the memetic nature of their popularity.

Lg, ff7 and shenmue3 are great. But they finished off it all one e3. What to hype for next ten?
Its like the end of Undertakers streak. It should happened someday, but not this way...

um yes.... it would....  and if it said play it on ps4 first that basically makes it bigger than if sony themselves announced it.....

that is the biggest announcement in a while since kh 3

Sony has been selling the PS4 on hype since launch. This E3 was no different. They told people what they wanted to hear, nothing more.

“Simple minds have always confused great honesty with great rudeness.” - Sherlock Holmes, Elementary (2013).

"Did you guys expected some actual rational fact-based reasoning? ...you should already know I'm all about BS and fraudulence." - FunFan, VGchartz (2016)

This thread is full of lol statements and salt.

All of a sudden console exclusives, timed exclusives, "it doesn't interest me " exclusives, "I've seen it before " exclusives and PlayStation only exclusives don't matter anymore.

The indies, f2p and returning ip's from ongoing franchises which Sony was mocked for in the past mean more.

This thread is almost like a stealth troll just to make people feel better about themselves and their console of choice.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is the best new game announced at E3 this year. It may have been leaked before but we didn't have any info on it before E3 so it was the most impressive game.

This∆

What they'll hype next e3? Now they blow out the full 7-8 years of hype in one show.
