Forums - Microsoft - Why Xbone Backward Compatibility isn't as good as you think.

Actually you are only guessing.  If MS create a 360 VM, then no you would not need to create a profile.  Really think this through

That can works even so they need the update process to release more games.

Even so there is issues in performance because some instructions runs better on PPC than x86... that way MS needs to find some ways to counter that even in VM because the game can't loose performance due that... that why emulation profiles needs to exists.

BTW you need to download the game too... so it is not the same disc you have at your home meaning it needs work... it is not just run the old game.

Those are just the preview games, the feature launches officially with over 100 games this holiday.

8 Rare games that are also included in the Legacy Collection thing. I suppose that explains why they're there at launch.

Well that's just to start, they'll keep adding games. Not like it's just going to be that list of games forever.

Edit: didn't MS say there would ba a hundred games when the service launches?

100 by this holiday...

...and even it never expands beyond 100 that's still 100 more than on playstation.  it's a featrue that was advertised from day-1 as not being possible.  people really have no right to complain here.

you guys should keep your xbox 360
just sayin

I'm just wondering how sony is going to counter this or how to show PS Now has value now that Microsoft is doing for free with that Sony is charing players for

Cmon, they said 100 by the holiday release, and they said that developers did not have to do anything to have it work. just yea or nea if they want it on the list. Which leads me to believe they were going to give developers the choice to allow their old games on here in case any of them are creating a remaster version. To not cut into sales, as this would net them zero profit.

What I am wondering is that since it is digital and since most likely, all xbox consoles from now on to forever will be x86, will the BC be there forever? So like can I play 360 games on the x2? Cause if that's the case, that would really be epic

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

that's what is available at the start of the preview. The real start will be during the holidays with "hundreds" of titles.

Sure, disappointing for now. But that list will grow, to say the backwards compatibility is not as good or will not be as good as some people think based on that list is rather pointless.
