I think of them as siblings. I don't think it would be released in 2016 though. It seems too soon but who knows. It wouldn't surprise me if other companies might create some "souls" clones.

Pokemon isn't milked. It's consistant.
Even if Gen 6 is the weakest new generation thus far. :x

Well, what came to mind was stuff like Lords of Fallen; Bound by Flame; Salt & Sanctuary. And I'd argue stuff like Dragon's Dogma was definitely influenced by it if we were getting into that too (plus Deep Down, if that ever materializes).
On top of the fact that we've had Dark Souls 2 port; Bloodbourne and now Dark Souls 3 all potentially within a year.
Dark Souls 3 in 2016 so that Bloodborne 2 can come out in 2018 but people don't feel a 3 year gap.
Can a studio really release a game every year and it lives up to the quality that a AAA game should be? CoD only survives as an annual franchise because there were 2 studios alternating, which means a 2 year cycle. Now there are 3 studios right? So that means each game gets a 3 year gestation. if From wants annual releases then they need 2 separate dev teams. Fifa survives because its soccer and how different can soccer be from one year to the next? Same with MLB and other sports franchises.

From has 227 employees. That's enought to divide into two team and work on a 2-3 year cycle.
