Tachikoma's actually an SCEJ developer/Gamer/Streamer.  And this thread isn't about 'every other review out there', it's about Kotaku.  Who really should be largely ignored anyway.

Which doesn't change the fact that she is still one individual, do you think every SCEJ Developer shares her opinion? Instead of attacking Kotaku or downplaying the author who isnt a dev, go after the authors points, do they hold any water? No one (so far) has gone after any of his points and is focussing on Kotaku the brand.

Well, very few have played the game, so there's not much discussion to be had.

Edit: And tachi responds! Only other person I know on VGC who has played it is ryuzaki and I think he enjoys it.

I don't know. I know a lot of people want to discredit the preview because it's Kotaku and because it's negative, but sometimes I find that Kotaku nails their review perfectly. In recent memory, they were spot on in their review of The Evil Within (that it was absolutely terrible with no value) and Sunset Overdrive (that it had many brilliant new ideas, but failed in execution and in its overall poor style).

I really can't give my opinion though. I really only played the first game for about ten hours with my brother on his New 3DS. We both kind of got bored with it and didn't see its appeal, so we stopped playing. And since we're both pretty hardcore JRPG fans, I guess boredom may be the operative word here.

Same dude wasnt a fan of Xenoblade was he?

Then I wouldnt care much about this review. Not sure why he would review it if he knew he wouldnt like it from the start.

Because the idea of giving a series you initially did not like a second chance with a new installment is soooooo unheard of huh?

Well according to those chart, Japanese gamers think that Xenoblade Chronicles has better graphics than The Witcher 3.

But then again the review count is not the same.

We really shouldn't be using these customer reviews at all.

I'm guessing that score has more to do with gamers prefering art-style over actual tech, which is common in many places including VGChartz. So that isnt a valid reason to discard the use of user reviews. And we don't have anything else to go by really, last I heard Famitsu is crap.

We have NOTHING to go by. Xenoblade Chronicles X and Xenoblade Chronicles have  18 and 114 reviews each. You can't compare them at all.

We do have one thing. Tachikoma's review and that is by far a way better option than grabbing 18 random customer reviews.

My friend said that XCX   totaly different  from Xenoblade, He means the games it's  really 180 degrees different from Xenoblade, except open world aspect. So even if the reviewer doesnt like the first one there is nothing to do with XCX, Like me who interested playing XCX  even i havent play the first one.

Hmmm it sounds like an offline MMO and those are the worst types of RPGs.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Most of the comments here are either saying the guy's opinion is wrong, which is theoretically impossible, or attacking Kotaku with arguments that have nothing to do with the guys article... this is routine eveyrwhere, but why can't someone just dislike a game? lol

As a player definately. As a reviewer? Why would you do that. That is not giving it a fair review.

If I was representing a big site I would not want to review a CoD game for instance. It would barely crack 20% because of the total mediocracy that franchise is according to me but obviously that wouldnt reflect what fans of the genre actually thinks.
