I actually think that PS4 is the top platform for this one, not with much difference as the PS version.
The Witcher 3 has 600k steam owners and by using statistics from previous games I estimate that GOG sales are at 200k units. Let's add another 200k retail, 100k for any other services and we are at 1.1 million.
(The Witcher 2 sold 200k on steam in the same time frame as 40k on GOG, but nowadays GOG became more popular, especially with the witcher push so one third seems reasonable.)
This means that out of the 4 million units around 25% of the sales are on PC. Looking into the fact that there are +/- 3 million divided over Xbox One and PS4 we can make quick reasonable assumptions based upon other data. In UK two third of the sales are on PS4, in Europe/Asia even higher and in the US the amount of pre-orders where also much higher. So with that I think the division looks like this:
1.1 million units on PC
0.9 million units on Xbox One
2 million units on PS4

That's pretty good news. CDR is a well established name now, so hopefully their studios are working on a new title while they continue their support for The Witcher 3.

That is great news, and people should know about how certain games sell.
If there only was a website that tracks individual sales, we all could go to.
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

For a comparation... Watch_Dogs sold 4 million first week.
The Witcher sold those numbers in 2 week, but considering Watch_Dogs was even on old gen, and generally was more poupolar, that's really good for The Witcher.
Considering how strong seem the legs in the UK and Japan chartz, i will go with TW3 > WD lifetime.

holy shit awesome sales!! will be getting my copy this week. i was actually considering to go buy it now

PS4 version sold already 100k in Japan, and 200k in UK.
So, i think other 1 million in NA+Rest of Europe+other countries is too low.

I don't really see why the PC version would sell that much when the previous TWO games didn't come close to that in the same time frame. Witcher 2 had a similar hype amongst PC gamers. I'm not saying that the series isn't expanding on PC, but I'd say that the console version have a far higher share than "just" 50%.
