ps3:
gta4, modern warfare, mgs4, oblivion, uncharted, assassin's creed, resistance, gt:p, motorstorm, guitar hero 3, lego star wars, burnout paradise, fifa 08, fight night round 3, heavenly sword, pro evo 2008, devil may cry 4, ridge racer 7, need for speed, singstar, hot shots golf, virtua fighter 5,
That's all the million sellers.

Compared to:
gta5, call of duty advanced warfare, fifa 15, destiny, watch dogs, ac unity, far cry 4, cod ghosts, last of us redux, infamous second son, killzone shadow fall, middle earth, minecraft, madden, driveclub, dragonage inquisition, evil within, need for speed rivals, knack, wolfenstein, battlefield hardline, lbp3, mgs:ground zeroes. Those are the million sellers.

Those are all the million sellers just to date.
There are 116 retail titles on the ps4 to date.

There were 185 titles on ps3 through the entirety of 2008, including digital.

valkyria chronicles didn't even hit the states until december.

Bolded plus folklore = PS3 >>>>>> PS4

But I'm one biased SOB... lol

No. I don't want Sony, or anyone losing. Competition is needed to create great games.

There must always be a winner. The winner must always crush the competition into dust!

Then...only then... will there be balance in the force...

I'd counter with person 5, though I enjoyed both of those games immensely.

Eh, P5 coming to PS3 too...sooo... cancels out

But in all seriousness, I'd really go with the PS3 simply because even though I had very little disposable income, i just hade to get a PS3 year 1 all because of MGS and GTA, I know lots of people didnt like it, but I loved it...plus folkelore and the hand full of games that came out for the PS3.

I have more leaway now in terms of money but I still dont feel the need to get a PS4. It doesn't strike me as a must have now thing. In fact, in the past 5 months, I opted to just get a wii and a 3ds and just rebought Senran Kagura Shinovi VS (coz i love boobs)...

Maybe when a "game" that i must play comes out...maybe then... or not... since by then i'd be in my forty's (hopefully not and one comes out in the next 2-3 years...) and i may not care anymore...

True, but still. Even if one side is losing, they could be winning in another area. The GameCube, for example. It may have not have win sales, but it did win by making Nintendo profit.

True, but them making profit  doesnt really benefit me in any way or form..

you could argue that they can put that profit into making new games but lets be honest, has anyone even actually seen this happen? they make oodles and oodles of money and they still try to cheap out on every thing.

all i care about is things that will benefit me.

1. market leader has a stupidly large size of the market...say 70-75%

2. market leader has an install base of over 50m units

if these criterias are met then...

a. free exlusives (yes, more developers will opt to just make one version and release it on the market leader just because its cheaper to make one version and developing a 2nd version isnt financially feasible)

b. more games. one platform, one team, less budget = more games can be made

c. faster release. again, one platform and all team members focused on that one platform = will be finished faster

d. get all games. no point in releasing a game on just the consoles with the least install base...best to release also on the one where you'll most likely sell the most.

these are all true and happened during the ps1 and ps2 era... no doubt it can happen again if the ps4 crushes the one and the u.

Even so, the others need to succeed. If there is no competition, then I fear the leader will be complacent and lazy. I do want the PlayStation 4 to succeed, but also the One and the Wii U. For me, it is the games that come from the consoles, not so much brand loyalty.

No, mainly because they can't afford to lose.

Yeah, probably this. We don't want another Vita.

MS can afford to lose.

Am i the only one that liked it when Sony had to put up a fight last gen??, We got such great games and new IP's cos Sony was in 3rd place last gen that now they are in first it seems like they just are not trying as hard. I dont know but this is the first gen where i sold my 1st nextgen console (Being PS4) not long after buying it and playing the exclusives that i wanted cos everything else seems so far away.

Anyway am i the only one that feels this way? should Sony of kept the attude they had when they needed to fight lastgen?? is that attude even lost or have we just not seen it yet?

I actually feel that way about most of thw gaming companies; when their consoles aren't selling that well, it usually lights a fire under their ass. I wasn't as big a fan of Nintendo during the last gen - for a couple of years it just felt like they chased the casual market too hard and forgot about their core audience.

But yeah, not loving Sony so much right now, I feel like they've been coasting with the PS4. Also the really hardcore Sony fanboys are, in my opinion, some of the absolute worst to deal with and I've seen more of them around than I did during the PS3 era.

So let me get this straight. You originally list Bloodborne as a part of your argument which was not developed by a Sony first part studio. Seeing this example I provide other studios who put out exclusives for the PS3. Yet I'm using goalposts? Right.

I am also shaking my head at your 3rd party comment. I never stated anything in regards to multiplats so I have no clue where the hell you are getting that from. I did state that indies are not real exclusives because the 99 percentile does not buy a console for an indie exclusive. Common sense.

I highly suggest that you do some research when comparing the multiplats offerings and stating PS4 was superior. A simple browse through meta critic should help you clear up your inaccuracies on that one. They are fairly similar in that regard.

PS3 was a superior multimedia device (streaming, video playback, etc) in comparison to what the PS4 is right now but I will admit there is currently more digital content compared to the same time frame.

You can debate to your hearts content but using games that were strictly first party (if you insist); Uncharted, Resistance, Motorstorm, Warhawk, GT5:P ,  are " a cut above Killzone:SF, Infamous:SS, Driveclub ,The Order ,Knack and even when included The Last Of Us Remaster, have a higher combined rating. No debate about it.

Sony owns the IP...smh

THe simple question here is "what is Sony doign to help the ps4" vs "what did Sony do to help the ps3".

While Uncharted was unquestionably a good game, UC2 and 3 were leaps and bounds better. Quality has improved significantly over time. Resistance wasn't even a good game, neither was motorstorm or warhawk. I would know, I had ALL of them. It was ALL Sony had in terms of their offerings. GT5:P is really the only significant title there along with uncharted.

Sony paid for PT. Sony developed all those games. Sony Japan developed Bloodborne in conjunction with FROM. It's plain to see on the wiki. Although a little thought into why Sony owns the IP, would've told you that without the source. Or if you owned the game, and saw SCE and Japan Studio right on the box.

I do own the game and I would not consider "oversight" development. They acted in the same respect as Nintendo did with Platinum for Bayonetta 2. You might want to look through that wikipage before quoting out of your ass! Once again , I use it as an example due to your criticism of 3rd party and published Sony games I had advised of. That was the point. You then attempt to warp it into something else.

Folklore, Heavenly Sword and Lair(which we all thought was going to be a great game) were all published within the first year of the PS3. They simply put more effort into first party and securing exclusives at the start of the PS3 life vs PS4.

Resistance was an excellent game/series. Far better than Killzone:Shadow Fall (and he majority of the Killzone series. Uncharted is miles ahead of Infamous:SS. Warhawk and Motorstorm are simply better games than Driveclub and Knack. Yet you still cling on to your belief that Sony has provided us with better software to date than last gen? Your opinion is your opinion at the end of the day but "clearly" as pointed out the games in the PS3 lifecycle up to this point were more critically acclaimed than the exclusive offerings of the PS4. You can argue and try to twist logic until your face turns blue but you are wrong. plain and simple.
