For me the PS3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>PS4.
Still plenty of years left in this gen though.

I went from Ps1, ps2, ps3, xbox one. haha!
and always the nintendo console as the side kick. Thats my gaming path so far. All nintendos ever made. yes virtual boy too!
and ps1 was my fav sony so far.
ps1 was my favorite overall, PS3 was my favorite piece of hardware though. The thing about the PS3 is that PS3/360 was more or less 1 platform, exclusives were mostly dead unless they got money hatted. The reason i got a PS3 instead of 360 wasn't really because of the ps3 games but mostly because of the hardware, free online and BC physically and digitally so you could get past ps1/ps2 games.
If PS3 had no BC and you had to pay for online i would have gotten a 360 because it was cheaper.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
I preferred PS2 era Sony and the first half of PS3 era Sony. The mid to late half of the PS3 turned into Sony focusing more on big games and shafting anything that wasn't massive, even if it turned a profit. Currently that trend is carrying over into the PS4 (in mindset only, with games like The Order getting massive hype machine treatment even though Sony knew it wouldn't perform well critically). I hope they'll shift back to their previous selves soon but with the way they dropped the Vita and the way they'll drop Morpheus I doubt they'll do so soon.
You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt! I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading. After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!
Playstation consoles start off slow in the gens. You should of had plenty of games to play between 1st and 3rd party games. Selling the console before the best games come out because you played the exclusives that you wanted is just asinine. The PS4 could turn out to be the best playstation console. We'll see.

I dont know but this is the first gen where i sold my 1st nextgen console (Being PS4) not long after buying it and playing the exclusives that i wanted cos everything else seems so far away. Anyway am i the only one that feels this way? should Sony of kept the attude they had when they needed to fight lastgen?? is that attude even lost or have we just not seen it yet? |
so you prefer the "if it expensive then you should get a second job" sony
to the "we designed this console with gamers in mind, not as a trojan horse for bluray and cell" sony?
Well okay.

Meh no. PS1 was special obv cause it was the start of it all for SONY, but it goes...
PS2 > PS1 >= PS3 (depending on the genres you liked and the nostalgia you feel).
It's still way too early to know where PS4 fits in, year 2 total sales does not even begin to pain the full picture. At least for me, PS4 needs at least a dozen more good to ok RPGs to beat PS3 or PS1 and/or a dozen great to stellar RPGs to beat PS1 or PS2.
Yeah I get what you are saying, it's like rooting for the underdog, which is fun. I just hope we won't see the return of arrogant Sony.
Can we just wait in the end of this gen to compare, for me to judge will be bias because I love PS brand, but the fact is fact and cannot be manipulate for quality because, for each of console have their own respective advantage and disadvantage based on trend, time, and situation. So saying one console is better on quality is just plain naive. Except for sells of course.

I base this not only on the quantity, but also, from what I've played, the quality of Sony's first party offerings, which have been sorely lacking on PS4 in my view. If I'd bought the console, I'd be pissed off that Sony hadn't made it worth my while, that's all. The thread asked for an opinion, so I gave mine. Not really feeling like an extended debate today, so I'll leave it at that. |
Which first-party games did you play on PS4? I thought both launch games were underwhelming, but both post-launch first-party games were great.
Anyways, I saw your wall and you seem to be a Nintendo/Xbox fan. Sums up your thought about them then.
