Forums - Sony - Sony doesn't make sense

Which would you prefer?

Uncharted: Collection 115 76.16%

God Of war: Trilogy 36 23.84%

Total:151

Because... the first two games of the God Of War series have been already remastered. It would make absolutely no sense to do it a second time. Even a complete remake would make no sense. It would take a huge amount of time = money, that would be spent better otherwise.

I have them on PS3.

Problem solved then.

To bring it back onto that topic more wholly: There's a very small minority of people who get screwed by there not being a physical PS4 version of the rest of the series. The active fanbase of GoW is no more than 2 million based on the series' performance in the TWO game remasters we've gotten already (Collection and Saga) and Ascension. Of those gamers who are fans, any that DO care about physical ownership already own the entire series in some shape or form. The only people who would buy GoWIIIR would be Xbox fans who want to try it out, and they get the first two free on PSNow(/very likely on PSN as PS2 Classics by the time IIIR launches). The only other game that COULD feasibly get a remaster is Ascension, but SMS just wants to forget that game happened.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

It makes perfect sense. Remastering PS3 games is easy, but PS2 games would require some serious effort.

Converting a game made for Cell over to the Jag can be that 'easy' but you are right that it would be a whole lot harder if they had to go back and remodel the PS2 games.

Then again Master Chief Collection have Halo 2 and Halo 1  from Xbox original.

They should be remastering more RPGs, just sayin.

A warrior keeps death on the mind from the moment of their first breath to the moment of their last.

Because its easier to remaster PS3 games (all Uncharted games) rather than 1 PS3 and 2 PS2 games (God of War).

Simple really.

Sony has remastered the God of War games but those games much like the Halo franchise are pretty old and the older games could've stood to get a little love like Halo 2 did. Good lord MS had that game revamped from the ground up. I didnt thin I would be impressed at first but quite frankly, I was blown away. Makes most remasters look cheap. The fact that you could go back between the new version of the game and the old is amazing. Once that bar is set its hard to get impressed by something like this.

So recently Sony announced Uncharted: Collection coming to PS4 with all 3 mainline Uncharted games. So I'm left scratching my head. Its not that I don't like this collection, its a very good deal. But what i don't understand is why didn't they give God Of War the same treatment? They announced God Of war III: Remastered a few months ago, which only has one God Of War game remastered instead of all 3 mainline games. It doesn't make sense, as God Of War is a major franchise for Soy and has sold more than the Uncharted franchise. They are contradicting themselves.

They seriously need to have better managment of their studios.

Sony is offering 90 days PSNow code for Gow 1 and 2 on PS Now as a pre-order bonus.

GT is Sony's biggest title, Uncharted is Sony's second, everything else is below these two franchises. Although I would prefer to have a GoW Saga collection on PS4 seeing how GoW is in my top 3 favorite franchises of all time I just don't see it pushing as many sales as Uncharted would. Uncharted has a much more casual appeal to it making more approachable to consumers.

But someone within the first 20 posts or so said that GoW was a way larger franchise than Uncharted and this isn't even close to the truth. There hasn't been an Uncharted to sell less than 5.5 million on home consoles, this franchise would be Sony's biggest if it weren't for how huge GT is.

Lol what? God Of War series sold over 21 million units in 2012, Uncharted crossed that milestone just recently. Tell me again how Uncharted is bigger than God Of War? If you want to know where these God Of War sales figures come from, go at the first page of the thread. Conina has a link in his post.

That's like saying Halo has a fanbase of no more than 2 million based on MCC, and Gears Of War has a fanbase of not even 2 million based on Judgement. I hope you understand how ridiculous that statement sounds right now.

Why does this thread have 6 pages when the answer has been given on the very first one? This thread doesn't make sense!
