Forums - Sony - PS3 or PS4?

PS3. Even if by some chance these remasters did come out, you could still play the older versions for much cheaper on PS3.
I'd recommend: The Last of Us, Uncharted Trilogy, Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim, Grand Theft Auto V, Bioshock, Bioshock Infinite, Portal 2, God of War Trilogy, Metal Gear Solid 4, Mass Effect Trilogy, Assassin's Creed 2, Tomb Raider, Journey, Shadow of the Colossus HD, Metal Gear Solid 3 HD, Final Fantasy X HD, Okami HD.
Other than what I have listed:
Street Fighter 4 is a good fighting game.
Gran Turismo 6 is a good racing sim.
Ni No Kuni is a good jrpg.

Oh yes, a good few of those were on my list.  I do already have access to/own Skyrim, Bioshock, Portal 2, Assassin's Creed 2, FFX HD, and Street Fighter 4.

Get a PS3 and wait for some deals and price cuts for the PS4.

PS Now would be the streaming service that the PS4 can use to play PS3 games, I assume.  Any potential issues with the service?

Depends on your internet really. Outside of that you'd be getting just slightly less performance than you could with dedicated hardware. Maybe not the best for reaction based games like fighters, FPS, or racing games. The library was rather impressive last I looked at it. I haven't tried it myself, never had the internet speed to try.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I recently ordered some used Xbox 360's for $80 on ebay. They all work great and had 3 month warranties.

I just ordered a used PS3 from Gamestop for $120 (an extra $20 for 2 year warranty).

I don't know your financial situation, but I suggest buying used OR wait for Black Friday deals.

I think PS3 is going to appeal to you more given the type of games in your collection. But the 360 has a few notable JRPGs as well.

So you don't have negative experiences with pre-owned systems?  If I get pre-owned, I probably will go straight for the PS3 if it's cheap enough.

My financial situation is relatively stable.  I have loans, but I can pay them (mine are lower than most) and have a net positive every month after all expenses.

I personally haven't had issues with the pre-owned consoles I purchased. I did receive a damaged 360 controller with one of the consoles, but they replaced it for free and even covered shipping cost.

I paid extra for PS3 warranty just incase I have an issue down the road. Also, if I'm not happy with it for some reason I can just take or send it back to Gamestop within 30 days. $150 for the sexy Slim model and 2 year warranty ain't a bad deal.

PS3 now, i feel it has enough games to entertain you for years and there are some amazing games there that you shouldn't miss (especially if you are a fan of JRPGs) , and it will take the PS4 at least one more year (or depending on your tastes even 2 years) to have a very irresistible library.

Go for PS3.
Cheap, free online, more games (even though lots are getting remasters only the AAA/mainstream games are getting that treatment).

PS4, trust me. And who knows, maybe some of those PS3 games that you wanted to play is on or will be on PS Now.

If you like Japanese games on PS3 then buy PS3 (pre owned) or new one , but if you like western games, most of the good ones already available on PS4.

Uncharted 1 / 2 / 3 - Coming to PS4
God of War 3 - Coming to PS4

I would buy a PS4. But you would miss great games like Dark Souls, Infamous and Ratchet & Clank on PS3.
