After Halo 4 and Halo MCC my hopes aren't high, that being said the over abundant FPS genre is weighing it's toll.

Overabundant RPGs, overabundant platformers, overabundant sport titles are weighing their toll.
No split-screen co-op, quite possibly no split-screen at all...That's such a bummer.
Bet with Adamblaziken:
I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
I played every Halo game (not the remakes, I'm not so much into visuals). It all started with Halo 1 & 2 on small gaming partys with friends. One of them had a Xbox so we always played Halo. A few years later I borrowed Halo 3 from another friend. Wasn't able to get much into it because I had no idea what was going on with the story, but someday I started the coop campaign with my girlfriend. We nearly finished it within 2 days and had a lot of fun, so the next time she visited me, I bought Halo 1 +2 and we played all the story together. It was fun, it was thrilling, it was one of my best gaming experiences. When Halo Reach launched, we lived together and got the CE on launchday. Because we read the books we knew it would be a sad story, but we enjoyed it very much. Whenever friends came over, we played local MP or made a nice firefight, while the others watched.
Halo 4 was a downer... we finished it 2 days after launch, but it somehow wasn't as funny and thrilling as the other games. Personally, the Story endet with Halo 3, so I think a prequel like Halo Harvest or something like that would have been better.... When friends came over, we somehow played Reach most of the time.
With the lack of Coop Campaign, Halo 5 will be the first Halo game I won't buy. It won't make fun to play it alone, and there is no chance that I'll buy a second X1 to play a single game in coop mode. At least, the Halo 4 story wasn't getting me in that much, so I'm not that excited about the plot. I think when Halo 5 launches, I'll just start a nice little Halo Reach - 1 - 2 - 3 session again :)
It will have co-op, though sadly just online.
Been thinking of starting Halo co-op with my daughter, at least she already likes the music. And you could play all of them in local coop until now.
