there is no reason to complain / say critics to anything you never touched, sorry.

btw i dont said youre doing this. i said its very common now a days for many many peoples. Ever saw a 1star rating on amazon as an "verified purchase"?

Are you likening criticizing games with 1 star reviews on Amazon?

Why can't I or anyone else complain about something we never touched? Have you gotten the gist of what most discussions on this board are about? What's wrong with taking a philosophical or principal stance against practices that seem unfriendly and/or unfair to consumers?

I have not played Assassin's Creed: Unity, but I know it was a hot mess when it came out, should I be disallowed from discussing the fact that it was/is a hot mess on the grounds that I don't own it? The immense trobles surrounding the online components in Sim City, is that off limits as well?

Microsoft were given a huge fine and forced to make Windows extensions open source in order to allow 3rd parties the chance to develop and release services and their own extensions on the world's biggest and most common OS, effectively breaking a monopoly trend that was harmful to everyone; should I not be allowed to discuss that since I never touched a developer tool in Windows?

This logic just doesn't hold; especially on a website forum made for discussion. About video games. The very idea is absurd to me, it reminds me of those who say that only people with a degree in political sciences should discuss politics, only dietitians should discuss diets etc.

PS: By adressing a member who was clearly quoting me, you are more than implying that I am in fact, doing "this".

yeah i dont have unity either but i never said anything bad about the game just because many people dont like it/got problems with bugs. I dont know what bugs they got, i dont know if this bugs would really bother me. I just cant build up my own opinion from "hearsay". I need to test it out on myselfs.

Splatoon isnt a normal shooter. The variation of maps isnt that important compared to a cod game because you have alot another things to do then just killing an running in the map. I never had any problems with the 5 start maps so far. And im level 20 now and already have 25+ hrs ingame time.

Like i already said I even think for splatoon its better what nintendo did. All people need to get used to the new machanics, the new controls and co. To many maps and modes would just overwhelm many people and it would be less fun in the end.

For what its worth; I am seriously considering getting Splatoon myself. I'm waiting for the Wii U to get a price cut and the PS4 to get a price cut and actual games I want (I don't own any 8th gen consoles yet).

The game looks like great fun, it's just the content from launch I disagree with. But it won't affect me since I'll hold off on buying it anyway (did the same with the two last BF games, waited for a couple of expansions and for server issues to be fixed).

I was surprised and relieved when I heard that Splatoon seems to function really well online, too many online games have huge issues at launch.

Just to underline this one more time; I think the game looks fantastic and I have it own my own future list of likely pruchases, it's simply the content from the beginning I'm puzzled by.

I can tell you the game is very fun and addicting even the way it was on launch. Hell, even in testfire state with no customisation/2 maps you could spend a lot of hours in game if Nintendo alllow it. Cause its pure fun.

I believe the drip-feed is more to avoid a negative feedback loop. By focusing new players into packed game modes it maintains interest, and helps the community grow.

IIRC they mentioned holding off on Ranked Battle mode until 'enough' players had reached a level 10 rank. This must have happened a lot sooner than expected (or they just preferred to not chance it). A cautious move, but I feel the franchise will be better off for it.

Agreed. I don't personally see how what appears to be Nintendo cutting content from the core game so that they can drip feed it to their consumers later (thus creating the illusion of them supporting the game more than they really are) is them "prioritizing the players". It's one thing to extend a game's life by creating new content, but this just strikes me as silly. Ah well, as you say, each to their own ^^;

This is an online multiplayer focused game, hence it lives or dies based on it's community, so naturally anything that helps keep said community active is good so that we don't have to wait 5 years for 8 players to show up in any given room. Also I'm sure not all of the update content is finished, so this allows us to play the game sooner if we choose.

As i said, each to their own. I think it's incredibly silly, and am glad Nintendo were punished for it by reviewers. If you disagree, that's fine ^^

How can someone review unreleased content?

online is not perfect though

For many, the online has been nearly flawless. Matchmaking is incredibly quick and lag and disconnections are far and in between.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

Four days after launch when it was clearly good to go with the game from release; yes, that's utterly meaningless. Don't make it something it's not. Content does not annoy me, the way it is delivered and withheld in this case, does, that's a huge difference.

And, no, I'm probably far from the only person who would be annoyed by that. And the whole pro-active stance is fine, but 4 days shows that that's not what this is about, this is like me throwing out a customer from a bar when he just paid for his first beer, in case he gets drunk.
The argument simply doesn't work and your insistence on applying rather underhanded tactics against my posts shows that you've probably realized this somewhere down the line.

PS: I think that "most people" actually see it the way I do, if opinions on this forum is anything to go by. A few weeks or a month; cool, more stuff! 4 days? Why on earth was this not available to me right away?

"getting one extra map and one weapon would only annoy me tbh."

^Your words, not mine. Please don't say my argument doesn't work then provide no reasoning as to why other than because you say so, especially after I already explained why it infact does. And really, it's just a mere 3 days earlier than expected, because they already said it was gonna be a weekly thing. Really there's no basis for being annoyed at the update timing, but for having locked content on disc would be more understandable, though remember you'll eventually have it all if you did buy day one and you don't have to buy games day one.

I guess you don't talk to people who actually have the game then for you to think that. This content specifically was already on disc, so you could still ask that question even if did release 3 days later or 3 months later, but the answer has been given many times so I don't see why you'd still need to ask.
