Microsoft Slowing Down Xbox One Preview Acceptance Rates due to “Tremendous Response”

If you managed to get into the Xbox One preview program, then you’re set, but if you waited it out, it might be more difficult to gain access from now on. Program Manager Emily Hanson announced on the private preview forums that Microsoft is slowing down the rate at which it’ll accept new registrations, because the program is near capacity.

“Due to a tremendous response from our fans, the Xbox Preview program has reached a near capacity level. With that in mind, we are slowing the number of new people we are accepting to optimize for testing. We are thankful for the amount of interest we’ve received to date and look forward to sharing more details on preview opportunities soon.”

Of course, we’ll continue keeping you updated here on DualShockers on what happens in the preview program going forwards.

Gosh, if only there was a really nice VGC member that has offered to invite people over the last few months.  It's the only way to have Backwards Compatability till everyone get's it this fall.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Quantum Break runs at 1080p, 30 fps on Xbox One; Wins Best Console Graphics and Best Rendering Technology at SIGGRAPH 2015

Remedy made a presentation last week at SIGGRAPH 2015 where they spoke about rendering technologies used in Quantum Break. In the document that was handed out to participants, Remedy stated that the resolution of the game was 1080p. They also revealed that like other third-person shooters, the game would run at 30 frames per second.

However, some outlets misunderstood the presentation and perpetuated rumors that the game ran at 720p. They probably didn't understand the technical aspects of game development and how shadows and lighting are evaluated at different resolutions.

Quantum Break, like Ryse: Son of Rome last year, also won the SIGGRAPH 2015 award for Best Console Graphics at the event. They also managed to grab the Best Rendering Technology accolade.

What were the games at this event ?

I followed the link but there is no mention about this award. Nevertheless, Remedy's notes are interesting ^^

Exactly, I've seen this claim of a Siggraph award for Quantum Break being made on Dualshockers, but the only source is an italian Xbox One fan forum, there's no source on Siggraph.

Seems like it's only people on SoloXboxOne that are claiming QB won such an award.

Winner or not, it's not as if this changes anything about how the game looks (we don't need awards to let our eyes tell us how we like it visually)  nor does the game make more or less fun if it looks slightly better or worse. Only important thing is if they can achieve their gameplay goals with the graphic effects it has (especially the "time effects") and as long as this works it's not a question about the pure graphics but about if it is fun to play with these implemented abilities.

As if the game would make more fun if the enemies faces would look 10% better or something...

It makes me sad to think about that I was also so much into graphics some years ago until I've realized that ugly games even from 15 years ago are still as fun as games from nowadays as long as the gameplay is good^^

Normally no. That's why they always say BC launching in November with +100 titles.
