Ah okay. Then probably Playground is the one i'm most hyped for because they are probably gonna deliver an AAA new ip first.

Fable isn't a new IP though Playground is only working on Forza Horizon 5 (Studio #1) and Fable IV (Studio #2).

There was small talk that Playground could be working on 3 titles but I don't buy that at all, they just have a few extra support studios Imo.

OOOF. I meant new AAA game. my bad

Since the rumors/general opinions seem to be that some of the other studios won't be working on AAA games for the time being I'm most excited for Playground. Basic bitch answer, I know

Haha, It's fine.

Yeah, It's either Playground or Ninja Theory. The Initiative are hiring incredibly slowly and call their game "AAAA" so I imagine that's going to be like 2023 at the earliest. Compulsion and InExile will likely remain AA for the time being, Obsidian are working on an AAA RPG right now but that will very likely be multi-platform, they have two teams but the bulk of their team will likely be on Take-Two's RPG.

That leaves Ninja Theory, Playground and Undead Labs. Playground started hiring for Fable in late 2017 but they're hiring slowly too, I could see Fable IV releasing 2021 at the earliest. Undead Labs could expand (Only 70ish employees right now) and make State of Decay 3 into a proper AAA title but they're focused on SoD2 DLC right now, plus they aren't the most efficient, they need to make big improvements to their technical staff. If I pitted Playground against Undead Labs in terms of efficiency, Playground would absolutely win easily every time Imo.

Ninja Theory could beat Playground but it depends if you think their game will be AAA, Hellblade was labelled as AAA, took them 3 years to create it but with only 20 staff, they trademarked their next games title earlier this year or late last year (Can't remember) but I think they had like 100ish employees which 20ish were working on Hellblade so likely they're already in development of their next title whereas Playground seems to still be in pre-production.

So yeah, Ninja Theory could likely get an AAA console exclusive out before all the other studios.

I guess that's true but I wouldn't call Hellblade AAA, and in fact I've never heard someone say it was an AAA game ... maybe an AA game that looked AAA. But the problem with Hellblade was that it was very apparent that the reason it looked triple A is because they used 99% of their budget for the looks and not the content, because the actual content was minimal, short, and had a lot of padding.

I guess Ninja Theory being the next one to make a triple A game is probably true if their staff has increased 5x. At the same time though, it will probably be a smaller triple A release.

Voted Ninja since I have been a fan of theirs since Enslaved, they are my favorite pickup thus far.

It was 4.2 billion and not 18 billion. That was Sony's whole revenue for the quarter and the guy was just not able to write a correct headline. Sony's gaming division is maybe twice as big as MS's but not like 8x as big.

You are right, Even then It's not even twice as big. Comparing the same time frames:

Sony's Game & Network Services division:

4.2 in Q1 FY19
3.9 in Q4 FY18
6.3 in Q3 FY18
3.8 in Q2 FY18
_________
18.2

Microsoft's Gaming division:

2.3 in Q4 FY18
2.3 in Q3 FY18
3.9 in Q2 FY18
1.9 in Q1 FY18
_________
10.4

Please don't be Quantic Dream!!

Out of all the Studios that have recently made game for Sony platforms Housemarque is the one that comes to mind for me been at 50+ in size fit's as mid-sized and they also said their arcade games were not selling well and will be doing something completely new with their next game could mean they were struggling financially somewhat and/or been approached by MS with the "make a game of your wildest dreams" we heard about could of swayed them giving the budget to make the transition they wanted.

Yeah, my money would be on Bluepoint too. It would also coincide with the texas based studio rumor as well.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Was browsing through the MS thread on resetera, and one the Admins seemingly debunked Ready at Dawn.

The thing with Bluepoint is, they don't really make games of their own, they haven't made a game of their own since Blast Factor in 2006. They are known as a remastering and porting studio. I wonder what games MS wants to remaster for next-gen? I'm still hoping to see Halo 3 Anniversary at some point personally. A Fable 2 remaster would be dope as well.

The thing is, in my opinion MS now has enough studios to focus on making new games, that it's okay for one or two studios tasked with digging through Microsoft's past portfolio and modernizing it in a remake.
