For the hiring of Darrell Gallagher, who heads up the newly formed Santa Monica studio, Booty gave him a "blank piece of paper," and told him, "You go hire the team you want. You go work on the game you want. We're going to get you a building you want, and we want to just start a studio from scratch."

I think the Pirate Legend is fine, The game isn't supposed to be done within a couple of weeks it's there to work towards over many years, I mean they could make it easier to get and rename it to "Pirate Apprentice" but becoming a pirate Legend is supposed to take time and effort fitting of the title and I'm sure when people hit it it's a nice feeling of accomplishment and joy.

I do expect some of the events in the future to include double gold/rep weeks or weekends for a specific faction that rotate every few weeks to help boost people and encourage them to do voyages for different factions.

The only thing they need to change are the achievements for 1,000 banana, wooden planks and cannon ball crates etc really as they are just stupidly high or they are intended for a future mechanic/feature that isn't implemented yet, Also over years SoT will likely keep adding new achievements and the game will likely end up well into 3000-5000 range.

At an E3 panel Rare talked about some nice things coming to the SoT updates. They also mentioned there are over 5k pirate legends. For a game with 4 million players 5k legends is a small amount. They need to make it easier to reach pirate legend.

No they don't. But I agree with others about The achievements. 1000 banana crates? It's insane, not to mention I haven't received or found a quest to deliver those yet.

Should also be 500 captains chests & skulls.

Maybe he can get Bryan Horton who directed Rise of the Tomb Raider he left Crystal Dynamics in 2016, Darrell Gallagher should form a 2 team studio and try to hire Bruce Stanley that would Huge for Microsoft.

People need to realize that there are not many Japanes devs that MS could buy because most already have a parent company. There are only 4 that are even worth looking at when it comes to AAA development.

It's probably a better option to create a new studio, find an industry veteran to be in charge(Itagaki) and then try to attract talent.

Itagaki moved his studio to Vancouver and Valhalla have not been busy since Devils Third. It would be really hard for MS to build a studio in JP from the ground up, there are not that many talented devs that would be willing to leave their studios. The only people they could really try with is Grounding and Mistwalker.

Sea of Thieves is a nice game to look at. Lovely colours and art style. Good job from Rare in this department.

The seasons mechanic saved the UK setting from being a failure imo. Apparently there was a disagreement at Playground over the setting for FH4, only some of the people thought that a UK setting would work, and they only decided to do UK after coming up with the seasons idea.

I really hope the seasons mechanic returns for Japan in FH5 next gen.

Well, once you add an awesome feature like that, you can't really take it out. Fans, and reviewers would not look kindly on that.

I was actually thinking about that, I hope they do some sort of review week where they change seasons every day to give review outlets the full experience otherwise they would just be stuck reviewing on one season and would very much hurt the scores it gets.

I'm sure they will. Would be completely counterproductive to not show off your game's full range to reviewers

I kinda knew that UK would be a great setting for FH and had been thinking they would want to do it as the studio is from the UK and after seeing everyone moaning about it been bland after the leaks of it been UK I kept saying that the UK has some great scenery and driving roads and that I think people would be surprised by some of it (but I didn't think about the seasonal changes) but I guess you can say every country has all that it's just knowing about it and which areas to base it on which with been a British studio they would know a lot about the places they chose for FH4 on allowing them to pick out the best scenery in the Britain.
