Darkest Dungeon – XBOX ONE

REDHOOKJOHN JANUARY 30, 2018 NEWS LEAVE A COMMENT

Darkest Dungeon coming to XBOX One on February 28th. More details coming soon.

About time this came to Xbox One, I bought this on Steam in early access and it really is a great game but they took ages to get in on here :)

Is there any MH Xbox fans in here?

Never played one yet, but I'm very interested in giving World a go. I would have bought it already, but I hear the co-op is kinda busted as of right now, at least on Xbox, so I'm holding off until they fix it.

I will probably try it at some point (ask me again in a year). I doubt that I will like it though.

There's at least 3-4 people in the GS League/here that have been playing it from what I noticed and I've just bought it buy not played any of it yet until later on tonight, I did plan to get it day one but the Sea of Thieves beta arrived and that took priority but should be pumping many hours into MHW over the next month or two.

Monster Hunter doesn't look like a game for me. I'll pass.

Monster Hunter is good on handhelds but IMO it sucks on consoles.

And why is that? Plays just fine on consoles.

Pretty good considering I didn't play any games for 1/3 of the month.
Finished: No Time to Explain, Rayman Legends, 6180 The Moon, Duke Nukem 3D, NBA 2K6, Yooka Laylee (100%)

No Time to Explain. Pretty underrated if you ask me. It was free during E3 AFAIR (along with The Last Station and Rare Replay) and it's a really fun physics platformer. Challenging too. With short levels. Perfect to just pick up and play. Took me 4 hours for all but one achievement. The last one though is really tough. 7.5/10

Rayman Legends. Well known so to keep it short, amazing game. My second full playthrough (after the 360 version). Finished everything but the two grindy achievements (1m Lums and reaching last player level) in 20 hours. 9.5/10

6180 The Moon. Basic physics platformer. Not too bad and really easy completion. 2 hours for 1000G. 6/10

Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour. Sadly this game has performance issues, which baffles me. Other than that pretty good. I theoretically finished it by getting all story achievements, but you can freely select any level you wish, so I just jumped to the boss levels. Therefore, no rating.

NBA 2K6. Very easy completion. One of the better sports games that came out in 2005. Doesn't work with HDMI cables though. Had to borrow a composite cable from my brother to play it. Approx. 40min for 1000G. 7/10

Yooka Laylee. Already completed it last month, but never beat the 4th boss. After that I decided to get the rest of the quills and then the pagies to fully complete the game in 23 hours. Already rated.

Summary for January:

46 achievements for Human Fall Flat - 980G
21 achievements for Seasons after Fall - 1000G
18 achievements for Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island - 1000G

11 achievements for Oh...Sir! The Insult Simulator - 600G
14 achievements for I am Bread - 210G
8 achievements for NBA Playgrounds - 400G
21 achievements for Injustice Gods Among Us - 315G (360)
16 achievements for WRC 5 - 315G
4 achievements for Sky Force Anniversary - 160G

8 achievements for Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour - 170G

1 achievement for Dead or Alive 5 Last Round - 20G

Overall: 251 achievements - 7,895G
(January '17: 241 achievements - 6,790G)

Solid month.
Finished: Human Fall Flat, Seasons after Fall, Skylar & Plux, Cubikolor, Mr. Pumpkin Adventure, I am Bread,
Injustice, Sky Force Anniversary and DmC

Human Fall Flat is a physic puzzle game. It doesn't look like it but it controls rather well (Better than
Octodad and much much better than I am Bread). Artstyle is really good too. Puzzles are fun and challenging. The
game is quite long. Achievements are well done and fun to earn. Took me 10 hours to get all but one achievement
(Speedrun, which is just completing the game in one sitting). Definitely recommended. 7.5/10

Seasons after Fall. This platformer received pretty good reviews and has a good rating on TA, but honestly I
think it's just a bit above mediocre. A much more fitting title would've been "Backtracking: The Game".
There are 4 areas of the game (one for each season) and you have to traverse each of them three times for the
story to end. There are absolutely no enemies or other hazards in the game, making it quite boring.
There are puzzles related to each of the 4 seasons, which you can freely change between, but there are always
the same in each area. Fall lets mushrooms grow, Winter lets lakes freeze etc. Not much variety in that.
There's a story but... yeah. Nothing praise worthy. Game took me 6 hours to 1000G. 6/10

Skylar & Plux Adventure on Clover Island. This game is the surprise of the month for me. A very solid platformer
with good graphics (Unreal Engine 4). Jumping works very well, combat is alright, levels are very big. There are
some puzzles, but mostly simplistic in nature. On the other hand, the game can stutter here and there, the story
is once more nothing memorable, Skylar (the cat) doesn't talk at all, but Plux (the bird) sadly does. His voice
is very annoying. Also he does absolutely nothing during the game. No attacks, no moves. The game would
definitely be better without him. It's also a bit short. There are 3 big areas and a tutorial one, which can be
completed in 3-4 hours. Doing all of the achievement took me 5 hours. I'm hoping for a sequel (without the
bird). 7/10

Cubikolor is a puzzle game. There's not much more to say. Gets incredibly difficult after only a few levels. No
way one can beat this without a lot of trial and error. It's not a bad game though. There are quite a few
obsatcles to make the game progressively harder. I basically used a video guide for 80% of the game. Even then I
spent almost 8 hours for 700G. 6/10

Mr. Pumpkin Adventure is a point and click adventure game. Sadly not that good. The game takes place in a very
weird 2D world. The puzzles are alright but the game is incredibly short and can be beaten in under one hour.
Since I made a mistake and missed a collectible early on, I had the pleasure to finish the game twice....
Therefore it took me 2 hours to get 1000G. 4/10

I am Bread. This game was the disappointment of the month. I watched some gameplay about it, also a speedrun at
SGDQ and thought it looked fun, but boy what a mistake that was. The controls are absolutely horrible. The bread
is never going straight for whatever reason, even though I let go of the buttons at the same time. Climbing
walls sucks as well and I'll be honest. I haven't managed to finish a single level without the help of some
jelly that is basically god mode (appears after ~3 time of failing a level). It gives you unlimited stamina for
climbing and makes your bread 100% edible, basically removing all the hazards). Only got 210G out of it but
uninstalled it already. No way I'm getting the others. 3/10

Injustice Gods Among Us (360). Never completed that one back in the day so I gave it another chance. Story is
quite good for a fighting game but definitely a step back on MK9. The scenes are always the same, you fight one
hero, cutscene in which you surprise two heroes and one of them gets knocked out for the moment, then fight the
first hero, after that the second hero wakes up at the end you have a fourth fight and at that point it starts
at the beginning. At least it has some mini games (which aren't that good), but MK9 had much more interesting
fights. Hell sometimes you had to beat multiple enemies with one life bar and don't get me started on beating
Shao Khan. The story is also very short. Completable in about 2 hours with cutscenes. Gameplay is fun though and
the level interactions are interesting as well. 7.5/10

Sky Force Anniversary is a shoot'em up game. Really enjoyed that one. It's fun to kill the enemies and doing the
objectives. It's not too hard and you can progressively upgrade your ship so you can easily beat levels where
you couldn't even survive for a minute. The downsite to that is that upgrading your ship take a really long time
and there are only 9 levels, which means you have to grind a lot in the early stages to even unlock the others.
You can replay the stages on harder difficulties if you complete all bonus objectives to more quickly upgrade,
but the enemies are just tougher and deal more enemies. Otherwise those levels are exactly the same.
Sadly the game doesn't track time but I surely spent 10 hours or more for 810G. I haven't played the other Sky
Force game, but I'm very interested in it. I just hope it has a few more stages or that it doesn't take as long
to upgrade. 8/10

DmC Devil May Cry Definite. Took me 8 hours to beat. Currently doing the Vergil DLC. Already rated (7/10)
