Wow...that is...fucking depressing.
Just more proof that bigger isn't always better. I also heard rumors that the reason Scalebound was in such bad shape was because the creator wanted to scale back the graphics for smoother gameplay, which makes sense given his directorial history and Japan's general feelings on graphics. Whether it was Microsoft or the Devs, people need to stop focusing on making the biggest games ever. There's a current rumor that Cyberpunk is going to be 4x the size of the Witcher 3 INCLUDING expansions and to me that's just too much and even if it isn't that big, it probably contributes to CD Projekt Red's delays.
I will say though, the game sounded like a clusterfuck and their original pitch sounds very dull and drab. Comparing everything to the Witcher was a bad omen in my opinion, especially "Very action like, not like Dark Souls, but more like Witcher" - Witcher isn't even very action oriented. But considering how amazing Obsidian are, I know they could have pulled it off.
