Why the heck is MS releasing Crackdown 3 and Super Lucky's Tale on the same day, November 7th? For that matter, why the heck are they releasing Super Lucky's Tale in November at all, the busiest gaming month of the year? It is going to get so lost, releasing so close to CoD WW2, NFS, SW Battlefront 2, Crackdown 3, Ni No Kuni 2, and Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon.

My guess is they want to have a child-friendly game available for holidays when hundreds of thousands xboxes are sold. It looks like a game parents will pick up from xbox live store. I don't really see it competing with shooters either.

Quite a few parents these days just buy cod for their kids... Hopefully it does ok. I have no children to buy it for.

Without a doubt but I don't think those CoD kids would appreciate Super Lucky anyway :D

I'll buy it for my 5-year-old and play it together with him. I hope it does ok too, the game looks fun.

Obviously because of the One X launch.

I also really enjoyed the campaign in Halo 5, played it twice. 34,4% is indeed really high for a game that was free to play. I have absolutely nothing to do at work atm so I checked a few games on trueachievements. Let's see how many finished these games:

Fallout 4 - 21,71% U
Halo 3 (normal difficulty) - 22,44% F
Bishock Infinite (360) - 40,41% F
Quantum Break - 29,23% F
The Witcher 3 - 21,46% U
Ori and the Blind Forest - 14,38% !!!! F
Dishonored 2 - low chaos 9,28% high chaos 12,94% F
Far Cry Primal - 28,23% F
Assassin's Creed Syndicate - 26,05% F
Forza Horizon 3 final showcase - 19,22% U
Gears of War 3 - 35,10% N
Skyrim (360) - 31,24% F
GTA V (360) - 31,35% F

Gears of War 2 was actually almost 50% which is pretty impressive. It's the best Gears campaign though but still.

edit. then there is ReCore.. 2,99% completed it. I didn't and I don't really feel like going back and finish it. Maybe some day.

since I'm also bored at work, I will help and add some more:

Ryse - 32.52% (GwG!) N
Rise of the Tomb Raider - 35.65% F
Need For Speed - 5.43% (pretty hard though) N
Mirror's Edge Catalyst - 9.48% N
Mass Effect Andromeda - 24.22% N
Battlefield Hardline - 23.34% U
Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered - 11.71% N
Call of Duty Infinite Warfare - 5.37% F
Final Fantasy XV - 27.79% F
Sniper Elite 3 - 18.44% N
Far Cry 4 - 28.18% F
Deus Ex Human Revolution - 27.62% F
Doom - 21.62% N
Batman Arkham Knight - 37.15% N
Sunset Overdrive - 18.89% F
Watch Dogs - 17.57% F
Metro Last Light - 9.88% (Survival); 11.61% (Spartan) N

Some of those completion percentages make me a sad panda. Only 12% for Dishonored? Only 3% for ReCore? My fellow gamers continually dissapoint me.

My personal record for those games is bolded.

F= Finished

U= Unfinished

N= Not started/owned

All 4 of those unfinished games I intend to finish. Waiting on a PC upgrade to replay/finish FH3, Witcher 3, and Fallout 4. Waiting on a bunch of good EA Access games to resub to EA Access, whereupon I will finish Battlefield Hardline.

Nah Dishonored 2 is higher than 12%. There's a good and a bad ending, each with their own achievement.
Both together are at 22.22%, BUT of course that includes people with multiple playthroughs to get both endings. However there's a story achievement in the final chapter that has been won by 21.22%.

It reeks of ignorance. Someone should ask Phil via Twitter why would they release a small new IP in between heavy hitters. I swear MS gaming side are idiots. There are genres that have been completely ignored this gen. On top of letting IPs they own rot. I'm sure they could've got someone to build a game because creativity from MS studios is damn near nonexistent.

Yea but I'd rather have Lucky switch launch dates with Forza. That's THE showcase game and you're releasing that before the console launches. Ass backwards

Tbh, I don't think a game like Lucky's Tale would sell well on Xbox regardless of when it releases. The audience for it just isn't there. After all, as you said, the genre isn't exactly well represented on Xbox....so wouldn't the fans of that style of game come out and buy it regardless of release date? I mean surely they'd be ecstatic to get such a platformer (if it's quality) regardless of the timing if they're so starved for it.

The truth is, it's a niche game. With the Xbox crowd at the very least. It'll sell what it sells, to those who care, and everyone else would ignore it no matter when it drops. Maybe give it a second glance in the bargain bin, if that.

No. Crackdown is the game that's likely to be murdered in this launch window, not Lucky. Lucky will do whatever it does, and it will more or less be it's ceiling on Xbox. Crackdown will be the $60 AAA game that just fades into the crowd of the holiday AAA onslaught, and largely forgotten.

I think Crackdown's success will depend on how good it's multiplayer is.

You mean the multiplayer, the premise of which was the original selling point for this game, that they didn't care to demo, or otherwise show off in any way at this E3? Oh ya......I bet it'll be great
