Forums - Nintendo - Should Mario Kart feature more none lap based tracks?

Both are fine by me... I like both (but with long tracks, you don't have to worry about bananas)

Mount Wario is my favorite MK track ever, and Big Blue is great as well.

I also like how they're the final courses of their respective cups. Especially Mount Wario is a great finale, everybody going downhill for that all deciding finishline. It's great.

So sure, I'd like more of these maps. I do feel they should be limited to a few each game, they should remain somewhat special.

Yes  i want more of those, but make them even longer

maybe 1 or 2 new tracks like BB and MW. agree on a versus mode, players can customize it to be a 2 or 3 lap race which like warping into the start...

A few is fine (four perhaps) but if you're going to do them then at least make them long enough. Mount Wario is the longest and that's arguably slightly too short as well, whereas Big Blue and Rainbow Road are woefully short (even if highly enjoyable) that pulling a Wario Coliseum and giving two laps of each would have been preferable.

The issue you have with making long tracks the norm is that they take longer to make and they lose a little bit of the magic and uniqueness of the "long track" in the process. You have to strike a fine balance, and MK8 was pretty close to that if you ask me.

I honestly felt some of the single lap tracks were short. Well I guess mainly Rainbow Road 64....

I like big TRACKS and I can not lie....

I like tracks without laps but I can imagine it being a very challenging process to balance them. A lot of the tracks also have so much beautiful details most don't even notice. That's why they feel relatively short probably.

Sure, but let's not go overboard with them!
