Forget whatever nano chip anything.

I remember that post. It does improve the chance of there being a slim sooner rather than later.

Remove the TV and Kinect features (that dont even work in most regions), that alone will make the box half the size. Make it $299 with 1Tb and just gaming hardware and dominate the gaming industry for the next 3-4 years

Ain't the TV and Kinect features software? Shouldn't have any impact on hardware size.

They need to keep it the way it is for now. So they'll have the phat supercharged cooler to play with. Then tweak the OS enough to figure out how much resources they need left to be 90% optimized then overclock it to the sweet spot. Then start trimming phat.

From where are the infos that AMD is working on a shrinked chipset? There are no 20nm GPUs on the Horizon where should they come from? 680 GTX 780 GTX 980 GTX all on the same process. 7980 290x 390x aswell clearly there is a huge problem at TSMC / GF. Who will produce this chipset? Intel? Nobody else can at the moment.

Hopefully they do. I plan on getting another Xbox.

Suggests that TSMC were going to be the ones to manufacture it.

Well I do not doubt AMD designed a 20nm Xbox Apu. However I doubt that somebody is going to manufacture it if the news of the latest months are any indication: http://www.extremetech.com/computing/199101-amd-nvidia-both-skipping-20nm-gpus-as-tsmc-plans-massive-16b-fab-investment-report-says

I also doubt that the first 20nm product would be a console APU as the market is starving for a new manufacturing process for years already. If TSMC would manage to make it cost effective then we would probably see first 20nm GPUs. Since when do console chips have priority over everything else ?

The Xbox one can be shrunk down as its wasting obviously space. But I doubt a 20nm Chipsset for Consoles is coming anytime soon. Maybe we will not see it ever as 20nm planar just doesnt seem cost effective at all. So we might jump to 16nm FinFet directly.

I don't think they will but I welcome it. I've been saying they need an entire redesign/campaign change ala Sony when they released the PS3 Slim.

Too early.

This year, it will be the 300$ drop.
Next year, the slim model.
and for 2017, price drop to 250$.

I think they will move to 1T sized hard drive standard first. Sure it's easy to add a drive, but most console buyers want something built in, easy, and ready to go. I'm sure they have shrink some inner components, like the main CPU/GPU, but still seems early. It took them 5 years for a 360 slim.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Not to put a damper on the rumors, but GloFo actually terminated bulk 20nm production. A smaller console, probably. A die shrink, not so much.
