What if you want to move while aiming diagonally?

Thank God you're not a game designer. xD

Design the game so you don't need to.

Seriously? That's like saying you shouldn't be able to strafe while shooting in a FPS. That's just mental!

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

So basically, a game that features a core gameplay mechanic that involves shooting and dodging shouldn't allow you to shoot and move at the same time.

The shooting is crippled anyway, by enemies that move and are placed in a way that does not gel with its aiming system.

I´ve been here for a short time, but this should be one of your worst answers ever.

Not so bad after all, but... oh boy, you can´t be really thinking that.

I see the phylosophy approach for the Wiimote (make a simpler controller for the casuals and non-gamers who can't wrap their head around controllers with more than four buttons) was brought up for people like you.

Yes, know the logo, and maybe the name long before I got a Nintendo console. I'd say it's one of the top 10 recognizable console logo's from the 6th gen. I was looking forward to it when I was playing on my Wii, but it got such terrible reviews it pushed me (along with some hardware PC issues) onto one of the HD Twins in a way.

So yea, even as a non Nintendo owner it was very well known.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

I see what you are getting at: Lack of auto-aim.

Although I don't see the issue because Super Metroid isn't a difficult game to begin with. If the enemies didn't even try to survive and could get picked off with auto-aim, then it would be a pretty boring game that plays itself for the most part.

Trying to survive is fine; diving at you in the deadzone between diagonal and horizontal firing lines gets annoying.

You can move while aiming... That's the point. -__-

I'll go with what Rol said. You can't handle that kind of game if they don't have auto-aim.

That's why you can jump. You grasp the concept of jumping and shooting, right?

I said annoying, not unavoidable. It made me spend the game wishing for a level of control a D-Pad couldn't provide.

An alternative to jumping is to move towards the diving enemy and kill it with a diagonal shot. Granted, you've already said that moving and shooting is a big no-no.

A game is supposed to hide its limitations so you don't think about them, Super Metroid constantly reminded me of them.

Jump or run. Simple. Dodge, duck, dip, dive and... dodge.
