Although I don't see the issue because Super Metroid isn't a difficult game to begin with. If the enemies didn't even try to survive and could get picked off with auto-aim, then it would be a pretty boring game that plays itself for the most part.

Trying to survive is fine; diving at you in the deadzone between diagonal and horizontal firing lines gets annoying.

I'll go with what Rol said. You can't handle that kind of game if they don't have auto-aim.
