I see what you are getting at: Lack of auto-aim.

Although I don't see the issue because Super Metroid isn't a difficult game to begin with. If the enemies didn't even try to survive and could get picked off with auto-aim, then it would be a pretty boring game that plays itself for the most part.

Trying to survive is fine; diving at you in the deadzone between diagonal and horizontal firing lines gets annoying.
