Gamescom, TGS and PSX were all much better than Sony's E3 last year.
I would think this is some indication of Sony's direction for these kinds of things, PSX in particular (because it was based in America), which I think most people liked the most of all Sony's conferences in 2014.

There's no doubt on whether they have new exclusives to show off and it's even more doubtful that they really need to put a tonne of stage time into things like 3rd party marketing deals, when they get to advertize those games as the main system outside of E3 and they're already selling a lot of those games without much of a push.

E3 hasn't been as important as Gamescom or TGS in about a decade.

A lot of people must be saying that because of the Powers segment, which nobody denies was fucking shit. But I just went a bit through it and I got this out of it quickly:

• Announcement of white PS4
• New The Order: 1886 footage
• Announcement of the new studio PixelOpus and their game
• LBP3 announcement and reveal
• Bloodborne announcement and reveal
• Dead Island 2 announcement and reveal (CGI Trailer)
• Ratchet & Clank reimagining announcement
• Grand Theft Auto for PS4 announcement and reveal
• Uncharted 4 reveal (CGI Trailer)
• Far Cry 4 PlayStation exclusive content announcement (play with your friends even if they don't have the game)
• New No Man's Sky footage
• Mortal Kombat X gameplay reveal

And then I'm leaving out all the Destiny, Batman, MGS stuff and Far Cry 4 footage. Not the best? Sure. Shit? No lmao. Also something people need to take into consideration for Sony's press conferences throughout the year: they have 4 press conferences to fill! E3, Gamescom (Paris GS this year), TGS and PSX.

In terms of announcements? Wat?

Yeah it was bad a lot of indies  and a lot of trailers of games we already knew.   Little Big planet 3 was announced though and first trailer of Uncharted 4?

I think that's a healthy approach to any conference, but especially to Nintendo's. They hide so much...for many reasons.  Some of those reasons are hype; othertimes it's because they know the product isn't ready.  Last year I felt like Miyamoto's offerings were examples of things that should have waited, but judging by their release calendar it's apparent they had nothing else ready to show.  With the push of Zelda into next year, the insistence that Project Guard and Robot are still coming out, and Star Fox as a lead title, it could indeed be a pretty sad E3.  My fingers are crossed for Nintendo to pull rabbits out their hats and wow the audience.  At this point if we don't get some sort of a Metroid announcement (and no...I don do want the announcement to by Metroid Symphony or some crap like that), then I'm going to be very bummed, regardless of what else gets announced.
