I've only experience Sony support twice (once with PS3 and once with Xperia) and both times it's been great and informative.

Amazon has amazing customer support!
and Netflix has fantastic customer chat support.

Every ISP customer support sucks unless anyone call tell me of a good experience they've had? I've had one with Virgin Media about 7 years ago out of 15 bad ones.

with ISPs just when they want to sell products they have good support

I get the impression you weren't a big Xbox fan to begin with. You had a bad experience, too bad. It happens.

I had some trouble with Xbox support in the past as well. But since then I've enjoyed my Xbox consoles for hundreds of hours. I'm over it.

Most customer support is great here in Norway

Seems like you're overreacting though...

Honestly depending on how badly I was treated, really poor service could make me swear off of a product or store.
(it would have to be really bad though)

They are just following standard procedure, saying shit like "duh i know, i work in IT" comes across as being a pompus asshole to a support staff, they arent trying to insult you theyre just doing their job, their calls are randomly recorded and they can get in trouble for not following the correct procedure.

He assumed you bought a refurb from gamestop, and it likely is a refurb even if gamestop claimed it was new when you bought it, as they have access to the consoles information and where it was originally sold, if youre claiming you bought it 8 month ago at gamestop and their systems say it as shipped to a toys r us three years ago, then the logical conclusion is its used/refurb, in which case the warranty is with gamestop, NOT microsoft.

Im sorry bur your reasons for getting in a huff at microsoft are crap, and you came across as a bit of an ass in how yo handled things then, subsequently, wrote off xbox based on that one interaction.

I've only had to call customer service in two instances. One, when PSN automatically charged me for a renewal of PS+ and I wasn't aware, and the other was when I sent in my Wii U for repair. Both times they were very nice and helpful (the Nintendo guy was a bit awkward, but for some reason that was a little endearing lmao).

I can see where you're coming from though.

Judging by the way I say u wrote coupled with being overly emotional about a call service from ireland, it sounds like you wanted to be excused from buying anything from them tbh, there's no way you let one call service completely shape how you shop, my folks for example have had shit call service with Sky for years, not just a single one hour call, years, I'd say they were more or less right to cancel with Sky, that and saving themselves money by going with the more modern Netflix.

That's how i see it anyway.

My english is not very good. But Why put up up with bad  support?  And it was more than one support call. I work in I.T. and I normally have to deal with Oracle support who are a lot worse than Microsoft but I say why deal with it f### them all

Then why do you not fuck them all? Why put up with bad support? Now go and throw away our PC and phone and get a product that does not have terrible support.

Also, a lot of pople work in IT. But there is a difference if you're the guy bringing the programmers coffee or you're designing complex network infrastructures.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Sounds pretty normal for customer services lines to be terrible though...

Yes, this sounds like a normal conversation with customer service, I sense this was just to trash xbox..

Well to update I went to gamestop after I calmed down and exchanged my Xbox for another one(really Did not want to loose all the great games I have for it). But then I bought a Wii u like two days later. Anyway Microsoft support sucks in Ireland but the guy in gamestop was bang on. Anyway I will no longer buy Xbox products.
