Forums - Sales - April 2015 NPD Thread! XBO #1: 187k, PS4: 174k, 3DS: 116k, Wii U: 42k

Could the wii U beat the PS4 also, because of the Splatoon hype?

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

And $150 cheaper than April 2014, but hey, those things don't count ;)

The Kinect came with the console for FREE??? Man, do I feel like a sucker....

XBO won. WHAAAAAAT!? But... how? I'm honestly shocked considering the PS4 was in the lead at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and GameStop. The PS4 killed it in Q1, selling 31.8% more units for the quarter. That means the PS4 had a much, much bigger drop from March, at least 45%, and it's going to be down at least 6.5% from last April. The XBO dropped only 20.4% from March, compared to a 63% drop from March to April last year. I guess the price cut has had some residual effects.

Well, I think this means we can expect a price cut announcement at E3 for the PS4.

Do you think it could have something to do with people jumping on board immediately with Bloodborne and investing in the future with the Batman deal? Is this just the vacuum that those two conditions would innevitably leave?

The PS5 Exists.

LET ME SEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS4: Batman bundle in June -------> super bad sales in May

WU: Splatoon in May ---------> maybe a boost of sales

Ok, unlucky, VERY UNLUCKY, but not impossible!

Surprising that Walmat, Best Buy and Gamestop all had PS4 ahead. Though do they do monthly chart or is it daily/hourly only? Amazon ended up being very 50/50 with 2 XB one skus very close to PS4, and no hardware in the top 40. If you went by Amazon you'd probably say Xb one was slightly preferred as the April winner.

Any way, congrats amazon.
Another very good job.

Any way, after the XBO won megaton, some Ninty numbers for 3DS and Wii U ???

For those saying OMFG MS won blah blah blah, you have to remember that NPD don't have the luxury of adjusting past numbers, so, say for example they learn that they've overtracked the PS4 by 80-90k, they take that off the next months total, so that YTD is correct.

Still, great effort for MS, and an almost good number.
