Sony released MLB 13, God of War: Ascension, The Last of Us, Puppeteer, Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus, Beyond: Two Souls and Gran Turismo 6 on PS3 and Knack and Killzone Shadow Fall on PS4 in 2013(only mentioned retail games).

It takes time to create new experiences.

the amount of Games churned out by First Party at the End of Ps3 life cycle is nothing short of massive... and people are expecting them to turn around, adapt to new hardware, create new engine just within 2 years.

And m i the only one who think its good that Sony are trying not to announce any game unless if they are 6 months or a year away from release. Sony had to face so much flak by announcing games at PS4 reveal that majority of the gaming community started a Rant like OP when Sony didnt announce anything new at E3 2013.

If that is what Sony has been trying then they've done pretty poor job, they've really only announced a couple PS4 games less than a year before release, if we ignore the launch titles, and while I appreciate those I'd still say that we shouldn't act as if that has become the norm with them.

Again Why??? AAA title takes time, even longer on a new system and PS4 has been on the market for only 18 months.. you cant ignore the fact in the past 3 years sony have been supporting three systems. Still have managed to release equal No of Ps4 exclusive compared to MS who abonded 360 in pursuit of getting games on Xone

Also its your perception of how sony are managing their first party studio... for me they have been doing impeccable job and have released games in and out since past 4 years, way more than the competition have..

I agree that Sony needs to get more First Party games out, but Insomniac isn't owned by Sony (hence the backstabbery known as Sunset Overdrive).

Major IPs not yet appearing on Ps4 are:

Uncharted
Ratchet & Clank
Jak & Daxter
Gran Turismo
God of War
Motorsports
Resistance
Sly Cooper
SOCOM
Twisted Metal

Its not the qauntity that Sony is lacking, like you said, more then half of there games released on PS3. My biggest concern is there quality. Apart from TLOU and Bloodborne (Co-Developered) There other titles have all been doing worse then there previous games or just simply failing to satifiy.

Infamous Second Son (80) is the worse in the series.

Infamous First Light (73) didnt resurrect this game.

Knack (54) was poor from the beginning,

Drive Club (71) theres no excuses for the delay and still managed to score low and lack content.

The Order (63) came out with an entire year delay and still managed to be flak as bad as Ryse (60)

Killzone Shadow Fall (73) failed to compete with other shooters the moment one was released.

Beyond Two Souls (70) failed to capture the hearts of gamers and was shot down pretty quick.

LittleBigPlanet 3 (79) i know it would have scored higher if it was bugged free but theres no excuse when it comes to our dollars.

Gran Turismo 6 (80) This franchise is getting worse on every release. It use to average 90/100 now its barely scrapping it in the 80/100

Iv only given afew examples and im using Metacritic to back up what im saying here. Sony needs to get there act togother fast. Dont released 1 Master peice every few years, these are 1st party titles, these are the games, gamers are buying the platform for. If the 1st party games dont pick up soon then gamers will eventually move to other platforms with the same 3rd party games with better 1st party exclusive.

At the moment Sony have time to figure this out only becuase WiiU lacks 3rd party games and MS havnt released anything ground breaking thus far, but on average Sony have the least favrite games reviewed so far based off there 1st party metacritic scores. Theres just 2 few of must have games and too many average games there producing.

Seriously Metacritic?? you missed out on plenty of others games which were release on PS3 and PSvita during those three year had exceptional Metacritic scores... also based on Metacritic score, games u mentioned arent in any sense bad score exception for Knack. And its not like MS have been serving Master peice after master peice. And you know whats weired that none of the console require killer app to sell... they are selling without it. With the exception of Wii U which ironically has Killer Apps but still isnt selling as well as the other two.

The PS4 is going to be on the market for over 2 years by the end of the year and unless something drastically changes its worthwile first party/exclusive lineup is still going to be very thin by then, it won't be until spring 16 before things really start getting in motion and I said before that I'm not doing this as a comparison to MS.

It really is not my perception, yes they've released many great games but they've also released so many commercial flops it's not even funny anymore, especially 2013 was a year of complete Sony dumbfuckery in terms of the PS3 lineup, at least half of those listed PS3 games for 2013 should have been PS4 launch or 2014 titles. And keep in mind that I am talking about management in connection with PS4.

I hate to say it but this is what happens when someone becomes dominant on the market. With PS3 they hade to push hard at one point and it gave us some amazing games. With PS4 there is less pressure and PS4 seems to be selling anyway, so quality is lower and things start to get delayed. This is why competition is important folks.

This isn't necessarily true though. For instance, it's commonly agreed that PS2's early exclusives were superior to PS3's.

I agree PS2 hade some amazing exclusives and within a year of it's launch even(in the west atleast). Though at the time Sony probably realised these were necessary to remain on top. Nowadays we see more focus on exclusive marketing and exclusive DLC, none of wich are beneficial to gamers in any way. I just hope this trend doesn't continue.

"The PS4 is going to be on the market for over 2 years by the end of the year"

yeah thats six months away.. didnt they announce LBP3 at E3 for the same year launch, same goes for entwined? and to some extent to bloodborne which got released within a year. As for the current situation the only games I m planning to play this year are Batman, MGS5, Battlefront, and on exclusive front its Untill dawn, Everybody Gone to Rapture,  HellBlade, tearaway unfolded and Persona 5.. though there are other games which i m not quiet sure will be able to make this year are RIME, No Man Sky, Wild and Tommorrow Children, although we will have date to all these titles at E3.. so its 50-50

Untildawn,Everbody's gone to rapture, Hellblade, Tearaway, Persona 5, Shadow of the Beast, God of War 3 Remaster. For me this is healthy line up.

"It really is not my perception"

Then who's perception it is?

Yes you can debate on Quantity, but quality is subjective. Its not like there is a sure shot formula out there for a hit game.. and for once sony is the only publisher out there who risk investing in New Ip which has a high rate of being a failure. Also I m proud that Sony released all those games on PS3, coz i was the one of the person who bought PS3 at $600+ and this also give me the assurance that PS4 will get the same treatment.

the only thing "Dumbfuckry" Sony did was how poorly they promoted some of their fine games during PS3 era and affecting their Sales

So in simple terms Sony has and will have more exclusive in 2015 than MS and Nintendo.. quality is subjective.

It is nobodys perception, it is a simple observable fact, when Shuhei Yoshida says that only 3-4 out of 10 of their projects are even profitable then that means that there's really just something wrong with their management, it means that they're greenlighting games that have no audience or that they're at least giving these games funds that are too large, it means that they're in a lot of situations lacking an eye for what works. The Order 1886 for example is a game that somebody should have realized way earlier that it wasn't going to work. I appreciate Sony trying new things now and again but sometimes I just really have to wonder who those games they are making are made for and why they aren't kept as digital only titles.

And I see absolutely no reason to be proud of Sony for having their studios work on the old system until so late in its life that the next system has to wait years until Sonys A-League studios actually release new games for it, just to release PS3 games that people are hardly even buying because everyone has already moved on.

Sonys dumbfuckery last year stretches way farther than lack of marketing, it's releasing Puppeteer 2 weeks before GTA V, its releasing R&C and GT6 in the PS4 launch week and 3 weeks later respectively for example.

I could refute to each and every point of reply but lets just agree to disagree.. for me and rest of the people, as evident from ur other thread. Sony is doing top notch job in terms of managing and supporting their hardware and for you they are not.

Its not just Sony, all three seem to struggle with release dates these days. Third parties as well.

Yeah. The dates they throw out on first go. Are basically the normal release dates we got years back. But as games have to be made more good looking. More and more time is required. So then they screw up and have to "delay" a game. That, or they're lying from the start. Saying a good release time. To build up hype. But then tell the real window later on.
