Nintendo Wii = 22.40 million sold PS3 = 10.77 million sold

Wow thats more than double. PS3 is getting pwned to the tune of 11.63 million consoles.

Now lets look at software sales, interesting even greater difference in favour of the Wii. PS3 is getting pwned this generation by Nintendo Wii. Now the battle is on for second place.

 

Well the PS3 was twice the price, and more expensive titles. It's only been 16 months, that leaves 104 months left in the PS3's life span, while no one thinks the Wii will last that long, it's not over yet.

People who own a PS2 or have purchased an XBox 360, will probably upgrade to the PS3 eventually. there is a huge difference between Nintendo Wii and PS3. Nintendo Wii focuses on the motion control wave your hand around like a mad thing, lol. Where as the PS3 focuses on providing the ultimate HD gaming experience and it offers Blu-Ray to the market.

Man, PS3 has what 2 half decent months? They werent even an amazing 2 months, just decent, nothing record breaking....just decent.


And everyone is all "PS3 to comeback on the Wii!" My lord the return to reality with the next few months numbers is gonna sober the whole lot of you up.

Ok this is a cesspool for meaningless fanboy rants. What kind of argument do you want, naming the advantages of each console? Because aside from that, no one knows. Present numbers we have, and they are on the front page. This is just gonna lead to bans and/or really bad arguments.

Actually, PS3 numbers will increase with the release of big upcoming titles over the next few months.(GTA4, GTp5, MGS4)

Every time Sony 's PS3 has a good week you get the leo-j's of this world bragging how much the PS3 is going to win and the comeback has only just begun.

well considering that now the PS3 has slightly out sold the wii in both others and America for last weeks, I would say that anything is possible when it comes to who will win, I've saud this before, this generation seems very volitle and really any thing could happen.

Lets not forget that Ps3 had to launches. Jap/NA and PAL. So for JAP/NA it's been 16 months but for PAL it's only 11.5 months.

Sony must cut the PS3 price soon not wait out until before Xmas 2008. Cheaper price represents value people like cheaper consoles. Sorry for all those people who got ripped off by Sony paying $600 US on its launch. Over in Australia it was $1000 AU for the 60GB PS3 model with no games on launch day March 23rd 2007.

Now the price in Australia is $700 AU for the 40GB PS3 model with no games.

People prefer the cheaper console which is value for money, they do not like being ripped off by some faceless corporation.

The Nintendo Wii console retails for $399 AU and includes a game- Wii Sports. Nintendo Wii has not needed to reduce its console price.
