Sorry, it's not for me. You're strapping on a monitor to your face. That's what it boils down to.

Honestly, just like Kinect or Move/PSEye, I think all of these concepts have potential, it's really a matter of them being fully realized by the developers (and that the engineers made them accessible enough to realize said potential). I think VR has great application, and would essentially be far cheaper than a giant TV, and AR will have great application for engineering, UI interaction etc.. but, as I said, it's up to devs to show us that potential and why it's a must-have.
I wouldn't mind trying it but I really don't care much for it.
I feel VR/AR will just isolate yourself even more so, which doesn't seem like a good thing for anybody.
I´m totally looking forward to VR in gaming but like others have said I want it to be its´own thing. About AR...I don´t see it having any impact on gaming.
However I think google glass and the likes are one possible evoloution of todays´smartphones.

| Yup...RO friggin rocked |
I'm really interested in trying it, but only in conjunction with that platform thing that lets you walk around. I do love immersion, but I'm only down if I can go whole hog. But really I won't know if it's something I really want without trying it, and even then the novelty might wear off over time.
I was completely blown away by the Wii and never wanted games to have normal controls again. But laziness always seems to set in over time and I find myself just wanting to push some buttons while moving as little of the rest of my body as possible.

We're not talking about a display headset. We're talking about Virtual Reality.
Something that allows you to see and interact with a virtual environment as if you were there. Sensors and all.
VR doesn't interest me very much at the moment. They will have to convince me that it's a worthwhile addition to gaming.
AR interests me even less. Everything I've seen of AR seems shallow and cosmetic.
Please note that I say all of that with an open mind. If the products are great then I'm all for it. They just have to deliver.

its a must buy for all gamers but it wont last long.. theres all kinds of new technology out there and this one is old as the industry itself.

I agree. I can see it working really well for racing games, along with some other limited uses that I haven't thought about yet. I don't see it working too well for the large majority of genres though.

I have absolutely no interest in VR gaming, and will not be buying into it. I'll keep gaming if the stamdard games keep being offered, but if VR turns out to be more than a fad (and I believe it will be a fad), I'll just find another hobby.
