What I like about Pokkén is that it's kinda accesible, but it's also deep. I think that the key is to use that "Fire Emblem-like" triangle of attacks (normal attacks beat grabs, grabs beat counter-attacks, counter-attacks beat normal attacks), and then you'll start to win some matches. I know what I'm doing while I'm playing, while in Tekken Tag I was just smashing random buttons. I'm really bad at fighting games, but I defend myself in Pokkén, and I'm winning more than losing (more or less like a 55/45), so I can't complain. It's classic Nintendo, making a genre more accessible but keeping depth in it.
