Soon we'll be seeing Sonic's next game which presumably will be releasing on the NX too. They suprisingly aren't rushing it out to meet the anniversary so I have faith in this one, though I do feel it'll be yet another completely new gameplay style and not the Sonic Generations 2 they know everyone wants.

Square-Enix has no sincere interest in selling games on Nintendo systems. Nintendo has to do the bulk of the localisation work, otherwise the games wouldn't even leave Japan. So of course it's Nintendo who is pushing the game, because it's them who have invested money. |
Not to mention Square has no confidence whatsoever in Dragon Quest in the west, to my knowledge never have.

So my brother's playing Tokyo Mirage Sessions, and watching Barry, (who looks in his 40s) fawning over Mamori, (who looks about 10) is seriously creepy.
Something i just found out today (came in the newspaper).
Pokémon Go has been download more than 1 million times since it's release in Portugal. And this is just the Android numbers.
Doesn't seem like much, but that number already means that 10% of the population has it in their smartphone.
Pretty impressive if you ask me!

From what I heard, there was a poll to vote for the stages for the final Splatfest on the website.. I guess most of the players like Moray Towers?

On the website? They said it was through e-mail, which I never even got. =(
Apparently so, though I thought it was universally accepted that it's one of the worst maps, especially for Turf War. Sucks because that really limits what kind of weapons I can use. Guess I'll just stick to my main being Sloshers the whole time.
A solid proof that Nintendo strategy of mobile games bringing people to their main business(consoles) may be able to bring new gamers/old fans back. Not that I didnt believe in it, but having actual proof is nice.

Nice to get some kind of numbers, was waiting for them. A 145% week over week increase in UK sales for Pokémon 3DS games sounds incredible, but it needs to be kept in mind that the base was rather low. This isn't going to be much more than a couple of thousand units in extra sales. But it also needs to be noted that this is just the start and that eventually more people will crave for a deeper Pokémon experience. After a few days of Pokémon Go, a lot of people will still be okay with what it offers and try to catch more Pokémon with that app. If we see a continued positive effect on the baseline of Pokémon games and 3DS hardware, then it will add up to a substantial amount, even in the UK which has proved to be the country least receptive to Nintendo products this generation. |
Yeah, I though the same as you.Taking those things as facts, its safe to say, or at the least very likely, that the sales numbers for pokemon merchandise in general in countries where Nintendo is stronger, such as US, Germany and France, should be higher, and that is without a new game release(which the effect would much likely be stronger), without direct marketing, either making use of the app directly or indirectly.
This has alot of potential. As long as Niantic fix the issues with Pokemon Go and keeps updating it, and Nintendo makes great mobile games for its other titles(the FE and Animal Crossing already announced), we could see a similar effect, though in a lesser extent.
