So, after hearing about Gears of War collection and Capcom being interested in more HD remasters, I got curious about the subject once again. People complain that this gen is full of games people already played, and that could take the spotlight away from new and innovative titles; how this gen could become too forgetible because the apparent lack of new games...
I would like to make a list with most AAA games released in each 8th gen console (including handheld if I have the time), so we can actually see the proportion of new games compared with remasters and crossgens out there, and see if it's actually as bad as people think.
To limit the numbers a bit, only games that have (or had at some point) retail releases count.

If you're gonna do this then please have some common sense instead all of the tiring "gaming will die this gen because of remasters, preorders, DLC, etc, etc". People (who have a brain) don't buy a game (or a DLC) if they aren't interested in it. It simply just gives you more choices as a consumer.
You kinda have a point that remasters can take the spotlight away from new and innovative titles but looking at sales people aren't interested in the majority re-releases (GTA V and TLOU being the only remasters in the top 30 best selling PS4 games). So don't worry :)
Additionally, you people seem to ignore all the great games that aren't remasters. I don't know why. Do you just like to complain? It's weird, especially when you consider that the biggest complainers of a certain console's library don't even own that specific console or own it as a secondary console.
Look at this list. There are something for everyone. Why only consider the remeasters? It's really silly.

Oh no, I'm not saying that remasters, multiplats with last gen and other things will damage gaming. It's just the impression I get everytime I read about it, people really dislike the focus of so many studios in releasing games that aren't that old instead of trying with new games.
I made this thread because I just wanted to know exactly how many remasters there are released compared to new games, and trying to analyse that information. No hate about remasters, specially when I play mostly on PC and handheld, console remasters don't really affect me :)
