It looks like Nintendo is doing the typical "undershipping" "supply constrained" thing to generate some hype for the fad. Good on them.

 exactly the same? That would cause even more discussion and debate over the possible error ranges and stuff = intense aruging

I think that SSBB beating Halo's record would be better in the long run for quelling arguments, because if Halo hangs on to a slim lead (and it won't be a big difference either way) its fanboys will perpetually try to use that as a shield from the harsh reality of SSBB raping Halo's lifetime sales.

If SSBB wins on both counts then there will be worse fighting in the beginning but it will settle down faster since SSBB fans will have a clear victory, and Halo fans will still be able to retreat to a "smaller userbase" stronghold. And hey, they'll always have NA sales.

Holy crap. I didn't think they had shipped that many. I guess my prediction of 1.7 million was a bit low. :(

Great for Brawl, though. It's easily the best game this year, and deserves the sales. :)

You want to compare it to halo's 1 st week but the Japanese dont buy western games. take europe and american #'s compare it that way when Japan starts playing like the rest of the world with games created else where then all 3 territories will be equal! they probably never will they are smart buying Japanese products keeps thier economy strong!

Ya like halo 3 and SSBB and say MGs4 are all so comparable! they're all different and so far H3 and brawl are great games.

MGS4 should be great to.
I cant compare them with each other they are each a totally different experience! But while were at it does that mean POKEMON Yellow is the best game ever because it sold the most?????
