I don't really think Sonic or Pacman count as other options... but the sentiment that we will have a choice between 3D World and this does kinda matter, though I don't know that it matters near as much as the sheer joyous rapture in the Nintendomain of having a new 'Rare' game.

Sure it will be great for many of us that love them, but how many of us that enjoy them own a WiiU now?

I cannot give you a fair answer because my social circles tend to be biased towards Wii-U ownership.

However the other  thing I have to wonder is, what amount of informed gamers who will know the backstory of this aren't either Nintendo-diehards or multi-platform gamers. I have to imaginne a good number of multiplatform owners would choose it for Wii-U simply because 'it belongs there'.

Though my argument is based on preliminary CTRL F's we've had people do of console names on the comments section of the Kickstarter and may prove a sub-par basis for estimation, despite being, in my opinion, one of the few we currenntly have.

Install base is a lot more important than attach rate. I mean, really attach rate means nothing. If the console sells poorly then games are automatically going to have higher attach rates but they will still sell less so there is really nothing good about just having a high attach rate by itself.

haha...Generalization and bad conclusion,do you remember the polygon's article about mario kart 8 to be the worst selling mario kart because of the lower installbase...

In the last nintendo's financial report we had 4.77m mario kart 8 on a 9.20m installbase, freaking attach rate of 52%,the 52% of wii u owners bought it, if the installbase was higher it could be lower but if the installbase was higher do you know that mario kart 8 wouldn't have sold accordingly? If a console sells poorly, attach rate will be higher is a bad generalization...

How is it a bad generalisation? On a lower install base a game will either have a higher attach rate or it will be a flop.

Mario Kart Wii had an attach rate of about 35%. Because of the lower install base that figure has jumped up to 52% for Mario Kart 8. If the attach rate had stayed the same, or even decreased, then it would have been the lowest selling Mario Kart and would have arguably been a flop would it not?

You don't understand what I'm saying?Mario kart 8 attach rate is at these  levels because this presentage of wii u owners bought it not because the userbase is lower.,..If userbase was the only important thing then mario kart 8 shouldn't have sold these numbers,it should be lower...

Mario kart wii if it was on a lower userbase with these sales it could have a higher attach rate but it might had sold lower...

So the size of userbase isn't everything and attach rate is sometimes more important...]

You completely canceled the importance of attach rate with generalizations...

Well there are alot of WiiU fans that love these kinds of games, but they will still just purchase one copy. Just like a guy on PS4 that think they are ok and wants to check it out.

There is no importance to attach rate, that's my point.

If the Wii U had sold more, then the game either would have sold the same as it did now, or much more likely would have sold more. The attach rate in both cases however would be lower than it is now.

Or lower,Or as much as to have the same attach rate that has now,so you don't understand my point...End of discussion.

You make a good point. Truthfully though... as much as I'd  love for it to sell well enough for that to really take effect I'm not sure it'll sell more than 5 million.

... okay now I'm hoping you're right but still convinced I am... so that makes this a lose-lose proposition where I'm either wrong or the game suffers unfairly...

I just hope the game does well on all platforms and more 3D platformers will be made

What indie game sales have been revealed by console usually favor Playstation Platforms.

I think biggest attach rate will have on Wii U and best selling on PS4.

Realistically, PS could market it, but I doubt it.

Userbase really doesn't matter if the game is too obscure.

One might think it's the other way around.

If it's too obscure even less people will stumble upon it on a small install base. Not to incite anything but my understanding is that the average Nintendo gamer is less informed than their Playstation/Xbox brethren.  And with that an obscure game becomes practically non existent. Nintendo fans are loud on the internet but that doesn't reflect in the sales of non-Nintendo games.

So I'd say if it is obscure on all 3 platforms PS4 has this one in the bag and X1 might even edge out Wii U as well.
