A Dedicated handheld? 60m
A phone hybrid? 500m :p

A slightly up spec PS4 home console? 30m

A truly next gen home console? 80m

What makes people think that the world would care for a Nintendo phone? And I've actually seen something similar being said about a Playstation phone recently as well, who in the world would want that?

It would never be branded a Nintendo/Playstation phone, not post smart phone era. And potentially anyone who's ever owned a dedicated handheld, so 150m+

In Asia especially the market could be huge. The difficulty would be branding+android intergration

If it's a handheld, 60 milion world wide.
If it's a home console, 35 milion world wide.

I think:

NX will be both a handheld and a consol.

handheld will run the same games as the consol version, but at much lower resolution.

Consol will run same games as the handheld, but at much higher resolution.

This way developers will code for the consol, but will also potentially have sales for the handheld.

I think this means we go back to a "normal" controller (for the consol).

(I can see it selling really well if they do it this way)

I think it ll sell really well if nintendo does it this way.

It will draw more developers to it, because its 2 markets in 1, which will be more attractive to develop for.

Not many people seem to able to accept this idea that NX could be two different hardware units able to run the same games/apps.

I think Nintendo has realized that they are unable to support the mobile and home console divisions adequately so they are unifying them.

90,000,000 lifetime in the world.

NA: 30,000,000
EU: 28,000,000
JP: 20,000,000
CN: 5,000,000

US: 27,000,000

FRA: 7,500,000
GER: 6,500,000
UK: 5,000,000
ITA: 3,000,000
SPA: 2,500,000

I also think will break some record

1) +1,000,000 first week in Japan
2) +1,000,000 first NPD (if will released in the holiday, if not, 600,000 to 800,000)
3) Best first year ever (more than the Wii, let's say +18,000,000 in 2018, the first full year)
4) bigger launch ever in China
5) Best seller lifetime of the 9° generation.

wow thats some high expecations, i like it. EDIT: personally i think it depends if its a handheld or console, if its a console i think around 40 million, if they really announce something revolutionairy then like 80 million, if its a revolutionairy handheld then i think it can beat the PS2

Without any information I'm going to guess anywhere between 2 and 1 bajillion.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Its the smart thing to do.

Esp if your not going to make a over the top insane hardware specced consol.

To me it makes ALOT of sense and I think it ll put nintendo back on the map (its just speculation at this point though).

I hope thats the route nintendo chooses to go.

Well if Nintendo NX is a Console it will be 25-30m. If it is a Handheld it will be 60-70m.
If it´s some weird mix up of both (as in there´s only 1 bundle you buy consisting of both) 50-60m

Will be a handheld.
The new home will sell for me some like 40,000,000.
As for now this numbers are nothing, but if the thread ask to predict, why not?

Also, i'm sure will have a super strong launch, but in the lifetime sales, will be a "moderate" success... not at DS/PS2 level, but around XB360/PS3 sales.

If it's a handheld

Probably around 60 million.

My Prediction:
it will be a handheld returning to single screen mechanics. the overall design will look like a super-slim gamepad. it will be able to connect to nintendo home consoles to use as a controller and stream games across both platforms.

lifetime sales: at least 40,000,000
