i sure am! and so are quite a few of my friends.

i guess there are just too many "hardcore" gamers on this site who don't enjoy some good-ol' tetris gaming. actually probably they're too young for tetris...

Hm, that screenshot on the left looks neat, with the really wide square playfield instead of the tall rectangle. But I only have 2 DS's, so if I'm ever in a group of 3-6 people who want some Tetris, I will gladly shell out $5 for this at once. But until then, Tetris DS will do just fine.

How the hell is Motion sensor used in Tetris?

and 10 bucks for a tetris game? Does it require friend-code? or leader board?

1) "Pricing has yet to be announced."  RTFA.

2) 99% of Nintendo games work the same way online.  You can play random matches without friend codes and you can play friends with friend codes.

3) No idea.  The game just got announced.

 

 

@SeriousWB, that might guarantee a purchase actually.

And just to point out why I'm excited.

  1. Tetris DS is the definitive Tetris because it has pretty good online and it the DS has a good D-Pad.
  2. The 360 versions have better online and would be the definitive versions except the D-Pad is terrible.
  3. The Wii remote has a great D-Pad and can have online just as good as the XBL version of Tetris (which is better than Evolution or whatever the non XBL one for the 360 was).

Too slow?  How do you play it?  Tetris on Gameboy is faster than any gave ever released on any of the current consoles (360, PS3, Wii).  If it is a good version of Tetris, it will let you play on a fast mode.
