I thought the same thing until I bought a Wii U and lived with it for a week. Now, it's my favorite part of the console. Makes the PS4 feel antiquated by comparison - no joke!

I've gamed more ON the gamepad than the TV lol. It's my favorite controller ever, I don't understand the hate. It's super handy to play VC games, browse the ESHOP and their internet browser.

Plus you don't see a lot of jaggies on the gamepad. :p

And the closer I am to the screen, the better I can control the game.

I hope the gamepad will work on their next console as optional controller.

The hate comes from people who 1) Hate Nintendo because its Nintendo, or 2) Have never used the gamepad

Someone can dislike the Gamepad, but someone who does, won't generate a bunch of hate for a stupid reason.

Can someone answer a few questions...

Will XCX have local multiplayer? If so, will it be dual screen? Or split screen?

Why the heck is there only 12,000k pre orders In North America?

Could I convince my wife to play this? What kind of playable characters would she enjoy? shes a crash bandicoot kinda gal :D

Not likely to have local multiplayer and it has practically zero similarities to Crash Bandicoot.  Doesn't mean she still won't like the game just it's an action MMO style RPG rather than a platformer.

I just meant playable fluffy characters or ones with some funny characteristics. She likes other genres, just usually picks dopey characters.

1. No local multiplayer.

2. A release window hasn't been announced for NA, not even a season, so until that's revealed preorders will be on the low side.

3. Big jump from Crash to Xenoblade. Splatoon might be more up her alley if she's wanting a platforming type of game (or even SM3DW). However, you guys could take turns exploring areas or fighting enemies if that's something she would enjoy. There's a character creator at the start of the game so she might also like completely customizing her own avatar.

I just meant playable fluffy characters or ones with some funny characteristics. She likes other genres, just usually picks dopey characters. We play civilization together but she hated monster hunter because she said it was too slow :/

There's loads of dopey options to dress your characters in, don't worry.

Ironically, even when I wasn't a (huge) fan of Nintendo, I always found the GamePad much more enthralling than the Wiimote. There's so much potential for asymmetrical gameplay and situations where using it actually feels like an integral part of the experience that you can't get anywhere else (examples being ZombiU and pretty much all of the party games).

Exactly! And I should also mention, it is HELLA comfortable. So why do people hate it? Cause it looks bulky? If it is comfortable, works and provides unique gameplay, I think people should stop hating on it due to it having a screen.

As far as I know, there isn't a character exactly like that in this game right out of the gate. Unlike in XC where Riki was playable, Tatsu doesn't appear to be (though I could be wrong about that).

But yeah, the character creator will definitely allow for some dopey appearances. And Xenoblade is much more fast-paced than Monster Hunter, so that shouldn't be an issue.

It really is comfortable. I used it for the entirety of very long games (namely Wind Waker HD - twice) and never had an issue. People hate it because it's different. I understand that people want traditional controls, but if you want that, just buy a Pro Controller (I did for games like Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors).

The only thing I don't like about it is that it makes the Wii U much more expensive to produce which limits Nintendo's ability to cut the price of the console. But, I'm still glad they attempted to do something unique because I've had fun with it.

It does make the console more expensive to produce, however, when Nintendo was asked why the price has not gone down yet they said it was due to the currency differences and right now is not a good time. So I don't think it is entirely the Gamepad's fault.

[PSV] New Tokyo Legacy: Operation Babel # (5pb.) (¥6.264) - 50%

Just saw this as well. I'd say it's an indication for 60-75K copies sold.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
