So wait, it is two different games which you have to buy two different cartridges for?

Where have you been? O.o
Game cost (i going to use $ instead of ¥ for the pricing)
$40 each (Black Kingdom or White Kingdom)
You can buy the 2nd version if you have 1 of the other versions as DLC for $15
There is also another thing. Third Story DLC that is listed for $15.

You can buy one game and download the other from the eShop for a reduced price (probably $10-15). So the other version is basically dlc.
However, if you buy a digital copy of IF, the game will only go up to Chapter 5. This is because Chapter 1 - 5 is the same for both version of IF. The two version start becoming different after Chapter 5. To play the rest of the chapters of any version, you have to download one of the two version of IF for free. The version you did not downloaded at first can be downloaded later for a reduced price (again probably $10-15).
The physical copy of the game has the entire game for its version only. You can download the other version of IF for a reduced price.
Edit: Mixed up the physical and digital game details earlier. What I wrote above is true now.

I think If both games continue to have a lot of exclusive content that is meaningful then paying one game for $40 and the other for $10-15 isn't bad since that's still less than a HD retail game. However $55 for two 3DS games that are developed with the same engine and time frame is kind of expensive. Let's hope there's a lot of content to warrant a price like that. |

Like i previously stated, we still need all the info reguarding the content for each. That said i have no doubt that each game are indeed full fledged games.
Thats why i disagree with you on being expensive. Because lets just say FE White Kingdom was the only game coming out and no other version exist. Nobody would be complaining at all (obviously if its a full game and similar of content to that of Awakening), and Black Kingdom could come out in 2 years from now and be a full fledge game and nobody would complain paying $40 for it.
I mean are we rip offed of Fire Emblem PoR and RD being both $50 games each?
Well yeah that example is a sequel, but Black Kingdom/White Kingdom are 2 different games and will have completely different elements to them including Chapters+Story!

For those who are worried about both, from what was said in the direct with them in it it seems there will be three ways to buy the game, one "complete" package probably at the higher end of what a 3ds run for 45-to-49. And then there are the color packages which have one side of the story with the ability to buy the rest later. It seems to me they are testing more flexible price systems. Let's hope nothing goes horribly wrong. *I than read more of the pages...

We definitely were not ripped off of PoR and RD because the game development for the GameCube is much higher than the 3DS. And both games may have used similar engine but the sequel probably had more time and energy spent on it because it was made in a different time frame. That's what I meant when I was saying both version of IF are being made at the same time with the same engine with a much cheapter development kit (3DS hardware vs GameCube hardware).
But again, if both games have a lot of exclusive content then the 55$ price tag will be a non issue.

I get the cheaper development because of reusing Same assests from the last game, but that doesn't mean the game must be/will be cheaper. Ex SMG⇒SMG2 or Pokemon BW⇒BW2.
If Each FE Kingdom game has the same amount of content as Fire Emblem Awakening each, i wouldn't mind paying $40 each. That said, its obviously going to be worst case scenario with buying the other version as dlc $59.99.
But im going with MSRP of $49.99 both games included for Western release. I will do an analysis of the games later once they release so i can show a non spoiler comparison on how each game warrants being full priced each and how different they are from one another :0

Still weird that they're even doing this for such a niche series. Seems like the Awakening success is getting to their heads if they think they can pull a Pokemon, but maybe they made right call, I atleast will be getting both versions no matter what!

Your overthinking it too much bro :p
Its nowhere near close to that of Pokemon. Also Awakening is the only reason we are even getting any FE in the first place

That's what I just said...
