Forums - Gaming Discussion - [Rumors] Transcripts about Konami vs. Kojima situation

If this true, i don't know what to say, i will buy MGS 5 if that the last games for kojima. I hope it will turn well for Kojima in the future. Maybe Kojima is better not working on Konami, or maybe Kojima will more benefit working on his own team or studios or maybe hired by big companies in the future?

I am not worry about how we will missing some great games in the future from Kojima, i just feel sad that they treated Kojima like that, since Kojima have been working for a long time on Konami.

And i hope Konami realize that gambling is an easy money (easy to get easy to loose), and will be force to bankrupt from their business. i don't mind if Konami focusing on other business but gambling??? really???

Well IF and a big IF at that. If this is true then why doesn't Kojima sue the shit out of Konami after the game launches? He could probably relinquish the rights of his games in the process. I don't see how any judge would let Konami get away with this childish behavior. So many jobs at risks and lives in positions of anxiety, it is unacceptable. I'm sure something is going to be done about this in the near future, if not next year. It'll be one hell of a long lawsuit.

Well, they are rumors, but the details investigated are true. There is a casino legislation supported by the Prime minister and it is estimated that it could generate an extra $40 billion in yearly revenues. It is a huge market and part of a plan to boost tourism before the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

Once i heard this type of thing (making the employee life a hell) happens in Japan sometimes, but that is a rumour too. I don't know the legislation or cultural aspects there, so who knows.

If ever anything seemed too bad to be true, this is it.

Yes, mgs is my favorite series! How is this happening?! And right before the completion of mgs 5. This is awful! Kojima appears to be wonderful human. You can see it in his games(come on, how genuine and awesome is Snake?) I really hope the game isnt affected. I'll be praying for this situation and Kojima. Hopefully some good can come from this in the end.

Yeah but the worst part is that believe it or not a lot of Japanese workers commit sucide for this kind of stuff.......

If they are going full mobile and arcade/gambling, what is going to happen to their IPs, will they sell them or license them to others? This really needs a full investigation. Konami, man. Konami has changed.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Whatever happens, I hope that in order to get even more easy monies, Konami sells the MGS franchise, so that Kojima can keep on working on this incredible series. A man can dream...

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

As insane as all this sounds, looking at recent activities where Konami has removed Kojima's name from everything, it wouldn't surprise me if it were true.

In my country labor laws are really strict so companies sometimes do this kind of stuff to 'encourage' people to quit since they can't just fire them.

But I thought that was a third world problen.
