The ratings are there to protect certain audiences.

If a game is rated M, it's because the content isn't suitable for young kids, not because the game was based off of the mind of a juvenile delinquent.

Im not satisfied. Mature in gaming just means violence and/or sex. Ask the Witcher devs, they claim their game is mature because it has sex (and violence).

So, can I assume that mature individuals are the ones who should gorge themselves on porn and mindless nonesense ?

What does that even mean...? The rating is there just to tell people that the game is not suitable for a younger audience... It has nothing to do with the "deep" story or "deep" themes... A 14 year old shouldn't be allowed to see sex or violence of that calibur even if it is mindless because they are too young for it hence why those games are rated M regardless of whether or not it has a deep theme or not... People that are over the age of 18 can play those games  because they are old enough for it and its not like they can't enjoy a game like The Last of Us while enjoying Mortal Kombat

See the thing is, there is probably a miss communication here somewhere from what you are trying to say and what we are thinking that what you are trying to say and considering how many people are thinking the same way as I do, the miss communication is on your part so you should really clear it up if there is one.

I understand what you are trying to say, but in this sense of the word it is referring to the age of the individual; not the intellectual maturity or the amount of experience they had with mature themes (in your proposed definition of the word). The word mature, in the sense of the ERSB rating, means it is for matured audiences in age. An M on a game means it is for people old enough to deal with themes of violence, sexual scenes etc etc.
