The new spiderman will be created to fit into the current Marvel Universe in the films and series and since Spidey is integral to the Civil War story arch, I can see why they want to reboot and get Spidey right.

Hopefully with Disney on board, this will make for a far better Spidey film.

Wasn't this established months ago? Spider-Man is going to be in Civil War and get his own film and then be in Avengers 3.

The model for this is there, "The Incredible Hulk" where you do a five-ten minute rapid fire origin and then do a story with the character.
