Oh this game is making me re-play Yoshi´s Island again for the second time in 2 months :O

Eh, still not really sold on this game yet. Definitely taking Mario Maker over it.

So far, the game is receiving very positive press.

I'm most likely going to pick both of them. I have re-played Yoshi's Island recently and the game, Mario's annoying crying aside, has aged very well from a gameplay point of view. Even visually, it still has lots of charm to this day.

If this one adresses the only thing I disliked about the original (baby Mario), and improves everything else, there's no way I'm missing this one. 

Expect it; Tropical Freeze scored lower than DKCR after all.

Tropical Freeze, as great as it is, played it very safe. While Returns brought the series back.

*sigh* I am getting really tired of this being brought up all of the dang time.  Why don't you focus on other franchises, like Mario Kart where 8 scored higher than 7 and Wii?  Or Bayonetta 2 outscoring Bayonetta 1?  Or NSMBU outscoring NSMB2?  There are examples both ways.

Critics are not going to bash this game for it´s lack of innovation, they are going to see it as a huge improvement to Epic Yarn imo

I think is probably going to get the same score though, but that´s awesome.

This is true, though I feel a similar fate could befall Yoshi, where it would lose marks for being a 2D platformer, a genre that after a resurgence in the 7th gen has fallen out of favour in the last few years.

So Returns is the better game simply because it released sooner than Tropical Freeze but not too soon after the last Country game.
