Forums - Gaming - Do you buy games for a system that you don't own?

If I know a game is going to be hard to find (i.e. nearly impossible) I'll get it before I get the console. I got the MGS4 collectors edition 9 months before I got my PS3. Same for the Shin Megami Tensei 4 collectors edition. Still have yet to get a 3DS, maybe once the N3DS gets a price cut.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

I have bought multiple retro games like 32x if I run into a good console deal. I'm about to start picking up used wiiu games and wait for a good price drop.

Throughout last gen I bought Halo because I always had my cousin's 360 to borrow. (My cousin had the system but almost no games). But few years ago I decided to just buy a 360 cheap so I wouldn't have to bother my cousin anymore.

Nah.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I 'purchase' the free PS+ games for the Vita though I don't own one. Its just in case I get one some day, but lets be real I'm never buying a Vita.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

I don't see the point? Even if I'd buy the console anyway I'd wait with buying the games unless I actually get the console first. Unless there's a lot of sales going on.

Yeah I bought 3 games or so for my PS4 before I got one.

Nope!

Only time I did that was when I got Red Steel and Twilight Princess a month or two before I actually got my Wii, but that was just because I knew I was gonna be getting it very soon.

When Steam is having a sale, yes I do! I plan on buying a new PC this year anyways, so no problem in buying games that I won't be able to play right now =P
