Just went into Gamestop and handed them 60$ and they gave me a game for free!!! Its amazing the times we live in...

I bought Melee a month before I could get the Gamecube.

I also bought Elder Scrolls Oblivion for Xbox 360 but only to put in my Sean Bean collection :P

PC gamer here, I bought The Witcher 2 as soon as they released the enhanced edition and before even upgrading my PC to its minimum requirements because I thought the team deserved it, and I bought Rainbow Six Vegas before being able to play it because it was just 5 euros with a gaming magazine. I also bought Thief III when I still had Win ME, because I liked the series and I had found it in a bargain edition too, I had to upgrade to Win 2000 (second best MS OS ever, beaten only by Win 7) to play it.

When I bought my WiiU Mario Kart 8 was delivered before the console, but no I've never bought a game for a console I hadn't already purchased.

That is a very interesting idea, I don't have a Ps4 yet... but have stand and looked at the games so many times and why not buy them. I mean it's not a matter that I'm not going to buy a Ps4 it's just the when. And by then I'll have some games to play...

Yep. I bought the Ni no Kuni sp with the physical book without having ps3. I am a giant studio Ghibli fan and had liked all of the level 5 games I played, so I went for it.
My plan was to get a ps3 soon afterwards but my computer died and all my funds went into that instead. Somehow borrowing the console from a friend never came through and I ended up avoiding spoilers for it for over a year, when I finally got the ps3 in a sale. I'd have waited and gone right for the ps4 at that point if it was backwards compatible.
Now I dont have any time to play anymore because of studying! :P
