Forums - Nintendo - Prediction Time! There will be NO "New" Super Smash Bros Game Next Gen...

I wouldn't be surprised. They could just call it "Super Smash Bros. for NX" and be done with it. The launch version comes with all the tweaks and DLC characters from the previous generation, and just build content from that platform infinitely.

They could even add a Melee mode and a Smash 64 mode, where the physics, rules, and glitches all are tweaked to run like those older games. Throw in a throwback stage pack with HD versions of all those stages, and they've got themselves two years of expansion packs right there.

I disagree, the will be a Smash game for the next console only they don't have as much urgency to get it out the door as DLC can push the previous game for longer then usual.

thats like saying there wont be dead people anymore.. and you forget nintendo is not crapcom

Even though i hope not, there is a chance LoZ U is not a wiiu game anymore or most likely Multiplat with next gen.

Nobody would expected a non exclusive wiiu LoZ game right? :p

I don't see it happening, SSB and Mario Kart are Nintendo's biggest IPs.  This is like Microsoft going a console without Gears or Halo, both series which btw lost their original devs but continued to live on, even is Sakurai isn't making the next SSB that's not gonna stop it from coming out.

Zelda? I get what you mean, but i think releasing it at the end of a consoles lifespan wouldn't be wise, i dont see anybody developing the next game anytime soon especially with Sakurai stlill working on Smash4

I don't see why a SSB game would take so long to make, especially considering they don't bother to make a story mode anymore.  They can start at the end of this year (considering thats when the DLC is done) and be done in 2 years imo, launch in 2017.  They re-use a lot from previous entries.

yeah they did it with TP but i dont think its the case with Zelda U. its more problematic to shift everything they had planned on the Wii U to a new consoles then to make a all new plan for a  all new console.. but I could be wrong :p

SSB Probably does take 2 years, DLC wont end this year. It'll be way into 2016. It takes a long time to make characters. (ballot ends Oct too).

Who would nintendo trust to be head of SSB if not Sakurai?

Tbh i be happy if they kept the same game and only added on with 20+ newcomers/stages/and added modes (adventure too)

Retro studios should make the next one
