Forums - Gaming - Have Sony Got The Margeting Rights To Star Wars: Battlefront?

It really does seem like Sony got the marketing for this, which is HUGE with the movie also coming out this holiday

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

Ah, I see it now. Yeah I trust Kyofu, and he seems very confident. He wouldn't say something like that and risk getting banned. Wow, CoD and Battlefront? Lol.

For a moment, I read World of Warcraft, Cod, Battlefront and League of Legends

It seems these type of rumors always come up during E3. MS more than likely still has CoD locked down.

Lol sorry for that confusion.

Also we don't have too wait for E3 do we. On April 26 they're going to reveal CoD BO3 ganeokay and if they show PlayStation prompts then it will be obvious, if not then Microsoft still has the market exclusivity rights then.

LOL hahahaha.

No, they aren´t.

That is just another game, another Battlefield like game (second in the same year). Another FPS, another futurist FPS (third in about one month window).

And let´s again forget that in USA after the first month Destiny sold better on the XOne on every other month.

So...

Again downplay all you want its Star Wars, the quality of the game is besides the point, ppl are going insane right now about anything Star Wars, and this game will be market to no end, itll be advertised alongside the new movie trilogy and on every conference you see anything about Star Wars, and everytime it does itll be alongside the PS4 logo. This is a ginormous marketing deal, one I cant quite understand how Ms let slip trough theyre fingers considering theyre in much better terms with EA than Sony is, unless Disney had more of a say in this than EA did, wich is possible.

You're so obviously tro*#ng here, but I can't help but respond.

Firstly, the lead in the USA was not significant. And ontop of that, USA is by no means the world. WW destiny sold significantly better on ps4. Oh, and Destiny only sold like that on XBO bc it was Bungie, who had previously been a MS first party studio. So ppl would be much more likely to buy a Bungie game on XBO over ps4 than they would a Star Wars game, which has no ties to MS or XBox.

Secondly, you're obviously forgetting the insane hardware boost Destiny brought for PS4. Increased ps4 sales from 200,000 the week before to 600,000 destiny launch week. XBO did 200K the same week. And for the month, ps4 sold sold about 1.5mill to XBOs 600K.

I have no about that it will "help" boost sales but some guys in here are expecting so much its ridiculous. If Sony doesn't release a bundle with SWBF3, similar to that of the destiny bundle don't expect a big boost.

Also we don't even know if the game is going to be good!!. We haven't seen any gameplay and we no certain aspects of prior instalments are not going to be in there, for all we know it could be a BF clone just re skinned ok? So I think a better judgement of the success of this would be made after E3, after a look at the gameplay system etc, previews etc and than we can work out what sales they could get.

That is exactly what they will do. I'm fairly certain Battlefront will do better than Destiny. For one this is Star Wars, the movie trailer that released yesterday already has 25+million views and the Battlefront reveal trailer has 3.6+ mil and it's not even a day yet. When millions of people are going to watch the movie and before it starts they see ads of the game with the PlayStation logo, oh yeah it'll definitely boost Christmas sales.

Also you're trying SOOOO hard to downplay this.

Your basing it on assumptions man, it WOULD make sense for them to do it but we dont know the full extent of the deal. No use thinking hyping yourself up for something and it falling flat in your face. I am just saying give it till E3, as SONY would probably announce a bundle and are probably  going to do it at their conference. There is no denial that star wars has massive amount of followers and it will increase sales, i am just saying people are expecting way to much IF there is no bundle. Of course my view will change if they do it, in FACT THEY SHOULD however like i said we need to wait and see than i will join in the PS master race ok? LOL

Maybe EA Access is coming to PS4...

It's possible, but that would mean that Sony would have to swallow their pride and ask for forgiveness from EA for calling EA Access a "poor value". Man, I'd like to see that xD

money > pride

And you're also basing it on assumptions that it won't do as good as Destiny. My assumptions make more sense than yours, which I don't think you even have any and I'm sure many people would agree with this, that is Star Wars brand > Destiny, which is a new IP. Also Star Wars is not a cross gen title until Destiny so it'll have a bigger impact on hardware sales. Also you seem to not understand what Market Exclusivity is, you think they would spend that all that money and not try to advertise it like crazy? Sony only does market exclusivitiy with games they know will sell well, like Destiny and Batman Arkham Knight. You are just underestimating the Star Wars name.

Also you say we don't know how the game will end up, you can say that for every game, yet that doesn't stop people from hpying up games. You think Sony knew how Destiny would end up critically? Nope.

And a Battlefront bundle is basically a given now, for every game they've had market exclusivity like Destiny, GTA V, and Batman, there has been a bundle. It's not going to change. And I'm 100% sure theres going to be a MGS V bundle. Also it makes sense, Batman bundle for Summer, MGS V bundle for Fall(Sep-Oct) and a Battlefront bundle for the holidays, most likely a Black Friday bundle since it's coming out 1 week before.
