More like 10% acording to researches. But people lie, so add those that are gay and stay closeted and we're looking at 15-20%. then there's 15-20% heterosexuals and the rest is a wide range of bisexuals. |
LOL, agenda is obvious

The gay agenda = equal treatment. It's that simple. Those who feel threatened by that reveal their own agenda to marginalize and oppress. |
Yeah, but equal rights agendas never stay equal. They morph in to affirmitive action, women demanding a ban of urinals, unfair child custody laws, on and on and on. Gays are already virtually equal in every legal way minus marriage rights.

So, not equal.
(And that's not even covering that gays are frequently verbally and physically assaulted just for being who they are)
Child custody laws favouring women have nothing to do with affirmative action, they're the result of traditional gender roles that view women as the natural carers.
Alright... i dont really care. He is a fighter and from the new generation he is the most original (though he is clearly inspired on green arrow from injustice). The other ones were just plain cliches. Female cage, scorpion wannabe and female jax.

Affirmitive action was referring to civli rights. What I'm saying is that all rights movements warp in to inequality in favor of whoever is pushing for equality.
Also being assaulted is illegal whoever you are under the law. We dont need special rights ro protect against particular kinds of assault.

"It might turn into affirmative action" is hardly justification for leaving inequality unchallenged.
And the latter wasn't in reference to rights, it was in reference to the fact that marriage is not the only area where gays suffer discrimination.
I want to make a joke to the effect of 'as a gay man I just want to say - who cares', but in light of recent events n the world (*cough* Indiana *cough*) I fear we're still at the point in history where this deserves to be a 'fuck yeah' moment afterall.
Has a video game ever done a coming out of the closet story? I think that would be a much more interesting way to introduce a character as gay. Maybe they are part of the story for a while, and then they come out the closet for whichever reason, and then the other characters deal with it in a respectable manner. I honestly don't see the point of making a new character and then saying, "oh by the way, he/she is homosexual/bisexual!" Alright, why do I care about his/her sexual orientation? I'd like for a gay/bisexual/lesbian chracter that is rounded and normal, who just realistically struggles with social norms which have ostracized them for this one portion of their being. That would interest me. Just labeling a character as non-heterosexual is not interesting. Making them a stereotype is even worse.
I guess every franchise needs to either have a gay character or a possibility to be gay these days. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I am always surprised how big the hysteria about gaycharacters in games sometimes is. Especially in Mass effect.
Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
